Twas very nice over the weekend. Perfect weather.
And ummmm that Hard Rock pool is something else!

I didn't end up running, by the way Kido. I couldn't get out of bed till around 8:30 a.m. and then the girls wanted to get breakfast together. Did plenty of walking and dancing though

Howdy TAN! I am going to make this a separate thread but our girl Trixie made the finals for Triathlete Magazine's swimsuit issue. There are a lot of comments for Linda, but we all know Trixie is the hottest hawtie and fits the standard of triathlete and swimsuit worthiness, so hit the link and make a comment.

Morning TAN.... thought I was supposed to be at work at 6 this morning.  Turns out it's next week which is my ultra early day.   Oops, at least I get to leave at 3.

Did something similar - rushed to get to work for our lab meeting and found out it was canceled.  Could have slept later.  Oh well.

I did that last Friday.  I woke up, got ready and was sitting down to my breakfast and coffee when I saw it was 6:45, which is when I leave to be at work by 7.  So I grabbed my breakfast/coffee, coat, etc and ran out the door.  After bolting the breakfast and slurping down my coffee, I got to work only to remember I don't have to be there until 8 on Fridays.

But, my supervisor came in early too... so I looked good coming in early.  But I went home sick at lunch anyway.

Hi TAN. I did 18 miles in Denver on Sunday and rode 105 in six hours on Monday. And surprisingly my legs aren't that sore today.

I think I'm ready.

Good morrow, TAN.

Ran my first 5k since the hip breakage yesterday and it went...ok. Not great, but not terrible. Happy I did it. But I was flipping angry when I did it....apparently, our insurance company has decided to raise our premium rates 40% over last year. 40 flipping percent!!! So now husband's company is shopping around for better rates, but the whole thing just gives me fits because it means a lot of phone calls, a lot of adjustments in where I get my prescriptions, and more f*cking money that we don't bloody have. GAH.

(and before the "personal responsibility" brigade starts: we canceled our cable, we have to have internet because my husband is a web developer, we don't have a landline and share a cell phone plan, we have no credit card debt, we've both got student loans, we have one car and bike commute, I have 2 jobs and looking for a third, husband has a full time job and freelances....so we're trying, but a 40% increase in premiums for no additional benefit (actually, I think they're taking away some benefits, so we're paying more for less) is just going to sink us)

Slow day in TAN.

Just about time for a new one though...

Gone are the days when we would need a new TAN every week.  (or shorter if yanked).

No the foot hurt during the run but not bad enough to slow me down much. I think it's healing. Slowly but surely.

My conversation with a friend last night went a little something like:

`Wait. You're doing a triathlon, right?'
`Yes.'
`How is this different than the Chicago one?'
`It's a lot longer than the Chicago one.'
`Oh, but it's still swimming and biking and running right?'
`Yes.'
`So is it harder?'
`Sigh.'

Right cheek gets the back of the hand, left cheek gets the front (opposite if you're a lefty). Keep the pimp hand strong.

I'm going to have to find a recipee for that.... sounds good.

I make all of my own hummus. My fav right now is chipotle, but the avacado is so much like guac it is a close second.

1 can garbanzo beans, drained
1 avacado
4 - 5 garlic gloves, minced
3 tsp olive oil
1/4 c water
salt and pepper to taste
3 tbsp tahini if you have it, I did not use it.
combine in blender or food processor until smooth.
