LOL...I didn't even notice I climbed 18k last week.  Probably going to stay in that range too as i gear up for Haleakala next month and that silly 40k is behind me.  Next week I'm burning some vacation just to ride and watch the last week of the Giro with my legs up....LOL.

Ironman Texas was this past weekend -- I went out and cheered people on.  Iron cheering is so much more fun than racing would be....still have NO desire to do an Ironman, but I'll go cheer any day

Gonna try to attach a pic from the race if I can figure out how to do so!

That's awesome!

I really want to spectate a marathon some time. It would be so nice to just kick back and enjoy! (and maybe have a beer or two!)

Pretty happy with my swim this morning.  Main set was 20 x 100 with ~5s rest.  5 ez, 5 moderate, 8 T-pace and 2 fast.  Did the first 5 on 1:30 (1:22-1:23), next 5 on 1:25 (1:19s) then the last 10 on 1:20 (1:15-1:16 and the last 2 1:12s).  Ready to have a good swim at Alcatraz I think.

Not sure when I would have last done 10 x 100 on 1:20 like that.

Can I just hang onto your wetsuit leash?

I've already had a request for that.  I may have to start a waiting list.

My beautiful bride bought me mine as a surprise and told me it was cheaper (and possibly a little safer) than a sports car.

One of these days soon I am going to go out and try to do a little aerolab testing on some equipment changes. That thread made me think it would be interesting to take my old TT bike and test it against my new one. I am quicker on the IA  than on my old, first-gen P2,  but that is likely attributed to all manner of things.

Holy Moly Arend - here I was all happy that I swam a single 200 in under 3 minutes with very little elbow pain. You really know how to rain on a guys parade! HA-HA!

Oh, and crazy nice work, BTW - those intervals just seem insane from my point of view.

Ask the guy who went sub-6 at IMC on less than 140 watts

Oh and when I bought my P4, I didn't have a tri bike at the time. so there's that...

Yeah, mine was 2300 I think, not sure that qualifies as expensive in our little insular tri world (as opposed to the "real world").  Oh, and I have a tiagra FD and 105 RD

I think my Blue Triad SP was $1400 (1/2 off MSRP of an old model year). But, add on the PowerTap, the new cockpit, the shorter cranks... that number changes just a little I've thought about selling it, but honestly I'd never get someone to pay me what it's worth TO ME.

My Lemond Zurich, which I love even more, was $350... but used with a good amount of miles on it, from what I could tell. Ultegra, though

Oh, and I think I'm doomed for my marathon.

A Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike exactly one week prior to the marathon is now happening.

Not my best idea, but how often does an opportunity for an all expenses/logistics covered trip like that happen? Not often enough for me to say no.

Are you in hiking shape? Or will you be by then?

I don't think it will kill your marathon if so. I wouldn't say it's ideal but it's not  too crazy.

I'm fine for hiking as long as I'm not carrying 35 lbs plus weapon plus water Even then, I'd be fine at least until the 12 mile mark.

I'm booking a massage... probably Tuesday, because Monday is a holiday.

If my marathon training were ideal at this point, I'd skip the hike. But it's not, and I think I'll be ok.

Whatever I can find!

That's the Army standard. Used to be whatever gear I could fit.. then it just because some fluffy stuff and a strategically placed/secured kettlebell

This one, I'm carrying water, food, and a camera.

We are doing it in a day... 5am start, estimated finish at 7:30pm.
