oooooo, I just found this.  Might have to do it....

Chill Towels Running w/ the Devil

Chill Towels Running w/ the Devil Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K and 50 Mile Run

What to you think, the 50 miler in 110 temps?

I'm planning on 140.3 in up to 110 temps ... with 100% humidity.

I say go for the 50-miler

I guess it makes sense.  Do they let you ride a motorcycle?  That's about the only way you'd find me alive after 50 miles in 110 heat.

Artemis - 2008-06-18 1:52 PM I hate Access.  I've been trying to figure out how to use it for like 4 hours and have had no success doing what I want to do.  Driving me crazy!!

Microsoft databases SUCK!

I use it to keep track of my dog clients but it's pretty much useless for anything more complicated than that. Well, not useless, just EXTREMELY un-user-friendly.

Just for fun... c'mon, I don't take these kind of things seriously

If I figured out I was last at any point, I would run through the woods to my Jeep and get the hell outta there.

Wait... so you don't want to make the people wait for you... but if you're last you'll run away? How long do they wait then?

It's next weekend....

I'm thinking half or 10k.  It's been a minute since I ran a half - like since April ....  Nothing over 7-8 miles the last couple months.

I agree!  I could make this a lot easier from scratch in Postgres, but that's not what I'm supposed to do.

Aikidoman - 2008-06-18 1:45 PM I'm in the mood for a running race.... Maybe there is something local in the next couple weeks.....

I've got a 5K tonight. I'm kinda looking forward to it. I haven't raced in awhile.

8K on Saturday for me. I hope  they have evil, scary clowns as that will make me run faster.

GAH! CLOWNS! Shudder.

No, i'm not going to agree to a three year extension to a service contract for my dryer over the phone in the middle of a work day. Send me the freakin' paperwork. Of COURSE you have paperwork. Send it to me.

And don't call me, "Ma'am."

What do you prefer to be called? When I was growing up it was polite to call women ma'am. And then when I was in the military we were required to call female officers `ma'am.' Now the rules change and nobody wants to be called `ma'am' ... now everybody wants to be called `miss' ... but to me that's like saying, `Hey, missy, can you ...'

This is why I call everyone Fatty now. Better to know you'll offend than to try and be polite and offend anyway.

"Ms. [my last name]" would work. i do distinguish between "Miss" and "missy," too. "Miss" can be used as a title--"missy" not so much.

"Ma'am" comes from "Madam," and i'm not married. There's also a certain way you can say "Ma'am" that comes off as "b1tch." i'm not too fond of that. There's a same-but-different issue with "miss," but that's rarer.

I CANNOT not call a woman "ma'am" or a man "sir".  Unless I know them personally, that is how I answer or ask questions.  How I was brought up. Even if they are younger than me.

Rynamite - 2008-06-18 1:50 PM I've done a bunch of 5K's... and a 5 miler... but never a 10k. This would be the PERFECT race to do it though, cuz it's super flat.... which is rare around here.

Then do the 10k.  I think you answered your questions.  And if it is super flat, shouldn't be too much of an issue for a guy that has done as much traning as.... well..... as......

Nevermind.

Sheesh... talk about kickin' a man in the ding-ding...

HA!  I was wondering when you could catch up to that.

Ima start calling people `Missy' and `Boss' ...

So at the bar if the bartender is a female I'll be all `Hey missy can you get me another beer.' and if it's a guy say `Hey boss, I need a refill.' I'll be popular.
