If I don't, I'm going to wind up raiding the kitchen and being not sorry at all about it. In other news, with many apologies to Badger Jen Moose and especially Salty, I am definitely doing an iron triathlon on Aug. 31. Which one is yet to be determined. Basically, whoever will take me. Also, there is actually an ITU Cup race in INDONESIA this weekend! I'm so excited. This formerly "little" sport in our country has come such a long way the Indonesian favorite to podium (he just got 2nd OA at a big 2x Oly tri in Singapore) is a guy who got into tri because he came to a triathlon seminar I put on here with Pete Raeburn (insert crazy top and long coaching and national sports advisory for Australia resume here, and in multiple sports), who usually grabs 1st in his AG at IMs, blah blah blah etc. Wait! Aug 31 is Japan. What else? MetaMan Bintan? |

Unimaginably hot and humid, hills worse than Lanzarote on roads with far crappier surface, small field, etc. I mean, speaking of how far triathlon has come in this country, it's great that we have an iron-distance race here and all, but blech. |

But the travel will be a lot easier than the hot hills of KY! But yeah, KY is still open, there is that. And Whistler has Foundation spots. |

My 12 year old and his math class are doing the harlem shake today. They are going to try to get their math teacher to start it off. I can't wait to see it! lol How do I know? Because as we were heading out the door, he face-palmed and said, "Argh! Do we have a panda mask?????" "No. Why??????" So he wore his little brother's monkey hat instead. Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED Who tracks their nutrition closely enough to see how much protein they are taking in? I looked back to Jan/Feb and on a lot of days I was under the 'recommended' (~1g/kg of body weight). I remember back last year when I was using my fitness pal, I was often under the recommended as well. I am wondering if that may be part of my injury and/or general soreness. I have started to have a snack with protein after EVERY workout, rather than just after long/intense ones. I do think it has reduced my general muscle soreness. /random ramblings |

Maintaining speed/intensity while reducing mileage seems to be the take-away for me. So, have you started your taper yet? If not, when? You have done your last "long" run, right? Does that automatically signal the beginning of taper? |
