Are any of you having problems with BT this afternoon? It keeps on logging me off when I try to visit your training blogs :-(

After reading this I looked at a few people's log - no issues for me.

I think that it's happening when I go to Community > Friends and access the logs from there. When I accessed them from my roster, no issues.

ETA: Or when I tried to respond to your Inspire! (Happy virtual Friday, BTW!)

Virtual Fridays are the best!

'Excitement' at the pool this morning.  A LIVING, CRAWLING, SPIDER WAS IN MY LANE!!!! WTF?! First, who knew spiders were able to live in chlorinated water; second, who knew the little bastards could live underwater period, and third, who knew they could actually sink and creep around the bottom?! Ugh!!

I was the only person in the pool (and apparently the spider) so it was just the lifeguard and me and she had nothing else to look at but me and my actions. Once I discovered the spider (probably half way through my workout) I changed lanes because I could just picture something happening that it would swirl up and get on my face or mouth or body (shudder). Knowing she would wonder why I changed lanes, I paused when I got to the other end and told her about said arachnid. She proceeded to explain that the pool's vacuum is waiting for a new part (so presumably they haven't cleaned it in some time?! That's gross, too). She walked down to the other end and got a long handled scrub brush thing and started jabbing at the spider, killing it. I'm not sure if that was better or not - now there are spider guts/juices in the pool plus its dead body. Each time I swam past it I'd check to make sure it was still there.

Eventually someone joined me in the pool and took the spider lane. By now the body was under the lane line of his lane and mine. I kept watch on it and it gradually started drifting into my lane. On my very last lap I couldn't find the body which cemented my decision to end my workout a bit early.  Dang spiders!  I had to think of the picture dear Yanti posts yearly of the tarantula on her face and how I cannot bear to look at that picture!  Nope.  Nope nope nope.

That sounds awful! The real question is, did it make you swim any faster knowing that at any second the spider could join for you a lap?? I saw cockroaches on the pool deck the other day and it made me wonder how many of them made their way into the pool with me. What we only do to stay fit...

Surely my pace picked up as I swam over it!  Cockroaches on the pool deck?!  Oh my!  Maybe the spider is preferable to those creeps - then gain, maybe it's a tie.  Here's hoping they stay out of the water and don't join you!

Yeah, I've seen those at the local aquatic center. It's spendy to swim there too!

yep, it’s just life in Florida! A schools of carp ( I think) hangs out at the swim start at Lucky’s, plus a turtle or 2generally appear. Fortunately or unfortunately, the lake water is too dark to be able to see that far, so I am/was blissfully unaware of all the other critters swimming with me! I know there has to be at least one gator in the lake!

livng in Florida, I don’t even really notice roaches or spiders anymore

The Iron Cheese is out. I'm having an issue with Achilles tendinitis. I wore the wrong shoes working on a rental house and now I'm paying for it. I refuse to go on the DL, I just need to ice it this weekend and I should be ok Monday.

OMG, I can't believe I missed this! Several years ago, when my now tri coach was the Masters coach, I had a spider in my lane. When I got to the end where my coach and the pool manager were sitting on starting blocks talking, I told them I could no longer swim until they got the spider out of the water. They thought I was joking. I wasn't.

Give me a snake or a mouse any day over a spider.

So we put our house on the market because we decided to downsize to a single-story. Our realtor suggested getting a few security cameras for inside the house just in case. We had a few showings yesterday and four more today. Two yesterday made comments about the watch cat and we had no idea what they meant. So today we watched the showings through the security camera and we soon figured out what they meant by watch cat yesterday.

Our cat Caesar is following the prospective buyers around the house and meowing at them. I don't know if I should be embarrassed or proud of our watch cat.

Hi All

I ran a 10K race yesterday, first time I have raced in nearly a year, first 5k was ok and comfortable and a pace I could keep going at, then got a stitch and could not get rid of it so had to keep stopping to walk was very disappointed when I finished. Never really had this happen before.

sorry you got the stitch, but good that you got back to racing! I know You say the first 5k was at a comfortable pace, but it’s pissible it was too fast for your current condition ( im assuming the lack of racing also = a low volume of running!).

I love this!

We have 2. I know 1 would hide and the other would act all cute and want to be pet, and then turn around and bite them. LOL
