I pretty sure I can do it no problem but you know one less thing to think about and to repack the bike after the race. You could use them or to get faster, good service probably lots cheaper...go to the Alvin Island parking lot and Dragon Sports has set up a tent with and they do repairs big and small and minor adjustments...sell stuff, have pumps you can use. Last year they adjusted a couple things for free on my bike as my FD wouldn't shift after I put bike back together. They had a tip jar that I put some money in. Jen DiCarlo uses them as she lives near PCB and recommends one mechanic who works on her bikes. Awesome Kathy_G now if you can tell where this Alvin island parking lot is(never been to PCB) from Shores of Panama plz, then I will be all set. Thanks |

A half mile from the Shores, the parking lot is the special needs drop off on race day and in the days before there is an unofficial expo with some cracking kit far cheaper than the race expo. I'm leaving Wales on Sunday to fly out of the UK on Monday, spending a night in Orlando then driving up Tuesday phew !! Look forward to meeting you in FL. Love the Narragansett stuff. I'm originally from the cape Very nice team uniforms and I'm sure gets lots of attention while you guys are out riding. Are you taking your bike or sent it TBT? Kathy, bike is going down Sat with PRKBikes who has done transport for a bunch of mates of mine previously. |

Member 44 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Weather has turned! Temp this morning is 35F with wind chill of 28F and possible snow tomorrow (Kathy, we just missed the snow yesterday). Looks like my last ride here is going to be on the trainer On the positive side, we had extended summer temps for great training during the peak period. Kathy, my longest ride a few weeks ago (from Lexington, MA) took me up to the top of Wachusett Ski Mountain - probably has snow on it now! Bike and gear being picked up Sat morning - time to rock and roll! |

15 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Kathy G, glad to hear you are packing already. My fiance is making fun of me for packing already. I'm glad I'm not the only one paranoid about getting sick. But I've had that happen to me before--2011 January I got a sinus infection right before the Houston Marathon so couldn't race. Also back in 2010 got a sinus infection and could not race San Antonio Marathon. I get sinus infections fairly often, so I'm always trying to avoid it. Plus I work at a facility for the disabled population and I'm hoping I don't get sick because there's always someone sick around here. Kathy, what IMs have you done and what years? Do you have race reports of all of them here? Congrats on turning 50. I think reading some race reports leading up to someone's 50th b-day would be good reading material for me right now. |

I just jumped on the thread to check things out this year. Looks like everyone is doing about right for this time in training. Trust the training and enjoy! You, sir, have exceeded your flat allotment for the year! You should be done with those! |

He and 4 of our kids worked last year and I had the captains email address as on line registration appears open but is closed. oh, good! So there WILL be someone still awake when I finish! Awesome. |

Veteran 239 Austin | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I will be coming in Wednesday am, and carting along the toolbox and workstand. i do NOT have the expertise to work on anybody's bike (so you can't blame me either ) but if anybody needs to use the stuff, you are welcome to do so. i am staying at the Wharf, and my phone number is on Jen's list. And even people from Tennessee talk funny... Edited by triplebypat 2011-10-28 8:49 AM |

He and 4 of our kids worked last year and I had the captains email address as on line registration appears open but is closed. oh, good! So there WILL be someone still awake when I finish! Awesome. The finish line is at its absolute best when you finish late. For my last 2 IMs I've gone back to the finish line from 9 or 10 p.m. to midnight. The place is absolutely rocking. The winners of the race genreally come back to hand out medals / cheer people on in the finhsing chute. The 16:5X finishers get the biggest cheers. Its really a fantastic experience. Not only will Kevin be awake but there will be hundreds of people screaming at you as you run down the chute. |

Champion 8766 Evergreen, Colorado | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Jen DiCarlo uses them as she lives near PCB and recommends one mechanic who works on her bikes. That would be Dale. Dale is the shizzle. Of course, I'm sure all their mechanics are good, but I  Dale!!! Last year Dale loaned his personal bike to a Pro who had something happen with his own bike and would have been unable to compete without Dale's bike. The Pro was #22...Dale still has the sticker on the wall at the shop because it was still on when the Pro returned the bike to Dale. Definitely recommend taking your bike over to the Dragon tent (in the Alvin's Island Parking lot) if you have any problems. They really are GREAT peeps and they are a triathlon-oriented bike store! |
