Great effort racers!!!

Sounds like you all had fun, how much of a step up in training and endurance is a HIM? I know what the distances are but does it FEEL much harder, I quite like the idea of a slower, longer pace.

I don't think I should answer this tonight!

Thinking about flying to WI for a HIM next August....looks like we have a second Georgian thinking of jumping on board.

Redknight - 2011-05-15 3:05 PM Totally awesome showing Rev group. Now let's hear from our other weekend racers.

Warrior Dash 2011:  I survived.

My mud-covered stopwatch said I finished in 48:41.  Didn't see the chip time, but I can't imagine it's too much off that.  This year's course was way harder than last year's.  And I got to finish with Marla's question:  I'm bleeding, where?  Report coming later; first, I am taking a nap.

AWESOME JOB DAVID!!!!!   when is your first tri?  i'll try to make it and talk a bunch of sh+t to ya!

Thanks!  I was hoping to do one this summer, but my wife is due with our first child in a little over 4 weeks so that's on hold right this second.  There is also this issue of me getting a bike, as all of my money seems to be going into that nursery right now.  But I am committed to working toward it and I'm focusing on the run since I can afford that.  =)

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME  WEEKEND HERE!!!!!!!!

i can't begin to tell you guys how much i love these MG get togethers.  and its really nice spectating only!!! ha.  this one was was pretty special because so many of our kiddos were there having a blast.

huge props to the daleitis's (spell it how ya want..its all the same)  for hosting dinner last night.

dino is taller and much more fit than i suspected he'd be.  not that i thought he was a slouch but i think jarrett has a crush on him.

julia says just as much in person then she does up here.  but she knows whats up.  and wait till you see the video!!!!!

tracy talks more sh+t in person!!!  love it!!!

i hear we all have a place to stay in august of 2012.   rob's in!!!!!

very proud of our racers.  all were stellar!!!

from what i gather the him course was one tough m'fer.  i was standing with jeff when julia's third run split came in and he was like oh no she's hurt.  first two splits were 8:15 -8:30.  third was 10:xx,  i just laughed and said nah... she's good.  with this worried look he said but look at her pace.  i said yeah but look at her place.  nothing changed.  so everyone is hurt or everyone is just hurting.   ahhhhhhh.  ok.  they are all hurt'in... yep.   tough course for the first first one!!!!!

the river was NOT fast.  it even seemed a little slow. i hear the last third of the run was a b+tch.  luckily the weather sat down otherwise it would have been brutal.

this was my first rev3 race and have been skeptical of them so far... seemed lots of wtc haters jumping on some unknown bandwagon.  but i saw first hand the difference between the two and its all about family.  so much more to do for those hanging around while waiting for the idiots to finish the race.  much much more family oriented than wtc events.  some minor things could use tweaking but overall... two thumbs up.

so.....  .

waiting for dad!!!!

i had to put that one up^^^^

here's one of my favorite..

seeeee. when you take to long in T1 one the kids start to wonder where you are.  don't worry though, we'll cover transitions once i download the video.   :-)

one for trev....

look.  she's trying to be a tall person.

David and the Rev3 crew, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so looking forward to reading some RRs. Sounds like a good day all around, even if it meant overcoming some obstacles -- Suzy you are one tough tamale.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig... I had an AWESOME weekend at my training camp, second year in a row. The build-up to the weekend was really uneventful, what with my son breaking his thumb on Monday (found out Wednesday) and other things popping up. With my hamstring issue I had no idea what to expect. I'm pleased to say I completed everything I set out to do over the weekend. I had two awesome pool swims (one like-paced peep is a self-proclaimed crappy pool swimmer, but did a :52 at IMC last year -- I KNOW I have him on swim endurance, just need to find my inner OWS!). I cut two of the run workouts short, listening to my body and common sense. Thursday (arrival day) my hamstring felt the worse it has in a couple of weeks and I was NOT happy. (Note to self: Long car rides and recovering hamstrings do not mix!) Fortunately the next day, after riding 70 miles, it totally cooperated for a 60-minute transition run (with walk breaks). And held up for 108 miles and a short T run the following day. Held on for a 2-hour run this morning with hardly any pain -- WOOT!!!

Made some awesome new friends. Had fun re-connecting with some other ones. Enjoyed riding with company. Was fortunate to have a girlfriend ride all of Saturday's long ride with me, but darned if I didn't pull her ALL DAY LONG. Nice to have the company and glad she was with me but darn I would have taken a pull in some of the nasty head winds!! Ha! Enjoyed hearing her tell about riding behind me when I was at a 45-degree angle due to the crazy crosswinds. Yikes! But we had SUNSHINE for every ride and I got to experience temps over 70 degrees!! Amazing!!! Great ice baths in Lake Coeur d'Alene after each long day. The 42-degree water was heavenly after 7.5-hours of riding/running on Saturday!!!

Can't wait to hit the hay tonight. Great to be home. Rock on, triathletes!!!!

Hi gang, we are almost home. Stupid semi went off the road and caused a 16m backup putting us 2 hrs behind. We had a great time. The kids can't wait to see everyone again. Great job racers on a tough course. Safe travels.

LOVE!!! Julia, that totally brought tears to my eyes! Awesome! Thanks for posting, John! Now where's Julia's T1 video???

Was just researching Rev3 Portland... Two weeks post CDA? Ummmm... NO. Not this year. But since I am 10,000% not doing CDA next year, maybe I'll make that my race. I bet I could get Steve and Ryan on board. Avery could run with Steve across the finish line!!

Love the videos!! But...John...you either have bad photography skillz or need better camera....I've stopped looking after a dozen blurry pictures. (LOVE the one with the nose picker...)

I love you my friend, but you'll never make it as a Zazoosh photographer. :-)

Kyla, that sounds like one amazing(ly tough) training camp.  The real thing is going to be a piece of cake!

Sam and Tony, be careful out there!

Where's our Linda???  Hope you had a good one, Terps.

Wow, I so enjoyed your pics John, makes me want to vacation in WI with the MG. BTW, you all look great and congrats to ALL of you. You are amazing and inspiring!!

Raced my 2nd half in one week, 1:51, 14 out of 245 in my division, on the toughest half course yesterday, several 100ft. climbs with lots of rollers in high humidity with sun.  It was so cool to hear "Thank you" from the fans, never heard that cheer before, since this was a big fundraiser for an excellent cancer treatment center in Baltimore.

Looking forward to a few easy days of recovery.

LOL, thats ok, I messed up the finish also, I didn't know the kids were going to be there and at the end of the race I was a bit oxygen deprived so I didn't know whether to sprint to the finish, run with kids, pick them up, etc.

Next time I'll be ready.

John - Thanks for those videos!  They are so great, I love them!

Great work all Rev3'ers!  I was tracking as much as I could, and it seemed tough, just watching the times.  Congrats on the finishes!

I don't know where Ryan and I will end up after I graduate next May, but I'll go ahead and throw out there that if we're in Wisconsin, we'll do the Dells, and if we're in the PNW, we'll do Portland's Rev3!  I could make either one of those my first HIM and be happy with it!

??? All the photos I saw looked darned good.   Maybe it's my monitor.  The only one that was a little fuzzy (and I thought it was the lighting or lack thereof) was the photo where folks were standing/sitting around a table chatting and enjoying brews.

Great job John!   Great job racers!!  You have me considering making the trip for a 2012 race.

I dislike my work security. No pics and no vid's until tonight for me.

Sounds alike a lot of fun and banjo playing in TN this weekend. Wish i could have been at this one, but no dice.

Thinking about next summer  - HIM in August in Wisc would be nice, but man a HIM in Portland would be nicer and close to home.

GRRRR....I have the same problem.

Awesome job guys.  Linda and Dave too - CONGRATS!

Since I didn't race yesterday, I will report that Kris finished the Race for the Cure 5K in 23:46 and finished 7th in her AG.  She was happy with her time since she hasn't been doing any speed work lately.  As a reward for haning with the kids and cheering her on, I got to do my 7.5 mile run in a nice 58º rain yesterday afternoon - fun!

Happy Monday Peeps!

Sorry all Rev 3 folks.  Last year the river was very fast, not sure why it wasn't this year.  I'm very happy with sub 30:00 in general for my swim, but last year I believe I swam a 23:00, which was only good for solid MOP in my AG so it wasn't extra speed on my part last year.

Bike, I think I explained pretty well, lots of climbs.  That whole on-ramp, off-ramp at the beginning and end were new since the bridge we took out of town and back in last year was the one they were blowing up.

Run, I'm not sure where you guys on the half ran into hills.  I thought the Oly ran the same route other than you guys kept running past the sign on the trail for another few miles.  I assumed it was as flat as the rest of the trail.

Hope everyone had fun, I know we did, it was great seeing everyone again and meeting Julia/Jeff and kids.  Our kids had a blast playing with all the other ones.  John, Drew wants to send a picture to Jack off his DS so that should be on on it's way tonight.

Now we're right back in it, Swim team starts tonight as well as Ballet, workouts, etc....

Well, made it home late last night ....  What a whirlwind weekend.  BUT WHAT A BLAST!!!!  I will make sure that I make the MG trip next year, definitely worth the effort!

The group was a blast.  It was finally great to actually meet Sam and Tony, Tracy and Doug, Julia and Jeff, John & Jarret, and of course see my fellow Badgers Suzy and Paul again.  As expected, great people all with great spouses and families!  Watching the kids interact was very entertaining.  Fattyfatfat .... I mean Skinnyskinskin, is chomping at the bit for next Saturday and was a great photographer.

Overall, I wasn't very happy with my race results .... more excuses Foot in mouth in the RR later tonight after I get my power data downloaded.  After the race, I hung around and watch all the HIM Peeps finish, and then another 600+ miles home .... Wow, that was a full weekend!

Hope everybody made it home safe.....  Thanks for a fun weekend!
