Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSEDSo after 3 weeks of work being insane it should finally get back to normal next week so I will be able to get back into training. Know have 8weeks until the 12km race that I have entered and 21 weeks until the HM that I want to do. I am ok with running/walking the 12km but I really want to be able to run the majority of the HM. Can anyone suggest a good training plan? I have looked at the Jeff Galloway one (I am part way through one of his books ) and I just don't really like the plan, I don't know why I just don't. I have checked out a few plans on the web but I have noticed that most of them have the longest long run as 12 miles. Why is that when the HM is 13? My thinking is that surely the longest run of your training plan should be at least equal to the race distance so that you know that you can finish it (this is especially my thinking when I have read in a couple of places that you normally hit "the wall" at the distance of your longest run ). I would love to hear your thoughts. |
