Hey - no sandbagging here.  It was my first OLY and based on what I know of my ability (which I guess is not much...I do have a huge confidence problem), I ran the numbers and gave my best estimate.  And, when you have a good day, you have a good day.  Go Posse!

If we beat you this year, just wait until next.  365 days to train until PP 07...I'm starting today.

My neck hurts.  Anyone seen Schmize's kneecap?

You know how the girl who took our pic ended up being a pro photographer and was all serious about it?  Seems like a weird coincedence, right?  That kind of stuff happens to me all the time.

I haven't checked everyone's logs but I suspect most of us either took the day off or went light, right?

Whizz did a 2700m swim, a 3 mi. run and a strength workout.  Amazing.  Next time I'm running low on tough I'm just going to read her logs.

No rest for the wicked. Am wanting to take tomorrow off, but was informed by my slave driver friend  coach that even if I don't do the whole workout, it would be worth my while not to skip the whole day... therefore, instead of this:

Tuesday Aug 22

Bike 20 miles

Flats 90 -95 RPM small ring

T-run 4 miles  **key run **

I will probably just do a 15/1 ride/t-run and call it rest... Frown At least I don't have to get up early.

I didn't know that Bobby Knight was coaching triathletes.

Ok, I have had a chance to review all of the times.  Unfortunately we lost the sheet with everyone's goal times on them but as previously discussed they don't matter because the penalties for such blatant cheating sandbagging would have automatically disqualified Team PP Cheaters Posse.

Before declaring the official winners I wanted to give out honorable mentions:

Fastest Swim:  Schmize

Fastest T1:  Schmize (1st in AG!)

Fastest Bike:  Schmize (there's a theme here)

Fastest T2:  Hangloose (I'm gonna hang my hat on this all winter!)

Fastest Run:  jowisc (This wasn't even close, by almost 6 minutes!)

On the undercard for this event, we are all WELL aware that I was kicked, dragged and thrashed around the course by Schmize.  Scott had a great race and I bribed the race official not to report his cutting the run short tip my cap to him.  In the interest of fairness I asked the testing lab to bury his positive EPO test results fair play I declare him the winner of our one on one contest.

The main event was the Challenge.  I guess any way you slice it it seems the Posse came in first.  The Weiners just couldn't stand up to the competition.  My wife says it happens to a lot of triathletes.  Sometimes you just can't perform like you think you should.  I guess we are Posse-whipped.  I've been getting some emails on how to boost performance, maybe that will help for next year when I'm going to Lunesta their pre race meal

Congrats to the Posse.  We lost, and being big Wieners, we can all take it like men.

Well I think both teams did a good job. Both are real winners but more correctly the posse are the winners. Hangloose though I think should win for best team captain. No one talked trash like him and he even had a shirt. How cool was that?

I salute you.

Cutest hair and tri out fit? Well that's a toss up between me and CindyK. Kiss

I wouldn't want to race her for it, though. Hee hee

Whizzzzz - 2006-08-21 10:35 PM Hey! Someone just hit me with a chair!

That was Scott's daughter (Caitlyn) disputing the "Cutest Hair" title!  She's feisty (gets it from her mom).  I'll explain that you meant among the racers.

My kids win "Most Likely to get a sunburn watching the race" hands down.

As I said in my race report. Congrats to the Posse. But remember you can never keep a good Weiner down.

We will avenge our loss at PP 2007 - The Weiner Strikes Back!

I refuse to take it like a "man", nor will I ever be Posse-whipped

Laura, I think I hear a half mary challenge in our futures...

But in the meantime more of the peanut gallery...

OK - I don't know how many of you are even paying attention to this thread anymore but I know this has been kicked around a bit.

What do all of you think about the rematch of PP going to Spirit or Racine HIM in 07? Yes, some of us (me) were doing our very first OLY at PP but Spirit is still 11 mos away. Who needs this little OLY stuff anymore anyway. Let's go HIM or even do both next year. All this is said knowing that P3 might be a little scared to carry their sandbags that far but what do you guys think?

Then in 08 - IM Wisc Challenge

09 - Kona Challenge? (Well, this is getting a bit carried away)

Funny you should mention that, Mark.  I'm thinking along those lines anyway, Racine HIM in 07 and IMWI in 08.  I know someone else who might be thinking that way too.  Shhh, don't tell his wife yet!

side note:  I bristle a little with the "little OLY" comment, but I know you mean it in fun.  With the way I felt after that race I will never think "little OLY".

Hmmm...I had put aside any thoughts of a HIM next year in order to focus on getting faster at the Sprint and OLY distances first (and then doing an HIM in 08).  But, if my Posse is going to be there then I might be coerced into it.  I mentioned it to jowisc at work and he said he won't consider it.  Something about being too scared.  Typical Weiner.

I am interested, too. Will be working on my summer schedule over the winter, but a HIM is in the cards, and this one sounds like a good one. I love PP, so that may be in there as well.

I can't really talk about '08, yet, but I am working on that....

I was thinking about the new HIM in Rockford in June, actually ...  but I might be able to be coerced into SOR ... NOT that I've made a decision to do a HIM next year.....  (I am sooooo bad about giving in to peer pressure though.....)

For those who haven't noticed yet, pics are up from the tri!
