Ran yesterday (painfully slow, ugh) before my root canal, so I got that going for me... Off to log today... Root canal????? Oh, sorry didn't mean to alarm the troops...I've been on a periodized root canal training program and they hardly bother me anymore...that was my 3rd one in 6 months, got another one to do next week and darned if it isn't the BIG one! I've gotten to know the Endo so well, he is talking about trying a triathlon too. I was really more impressed that I got up and ran before the natives around here than I was with the dental work. Feels pretty flippin' good today! Q |

Expert 1358 Albuquerque, New Mexico | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge pdbman - 2010-02-02 10:17 PM D001 - 2010-02-02 6:19 PM I'm not amazed that they are passing me, that's a common thing for people to pass me. In the pool, on the track, on the road, I'm always getting passed. I'm amazed that they can run with a jogging stroller like that. It's taking all I have to go as slow as I do and they go cruising by with all the extra weight and effort that goes along with pushing a jogging stroller. That's what amazes me is that they can run with the stroller. I guess another issue for me is that my stride is so long that I'm always kicking things that I try to push. Shopping carts drive me nuts because I have to take these itty-bitty steps to keep from kicking the cart.pdbman - 2010-02-02 3:12 PMIts amazing to me that anyone can run with those joggers. Especially a double. I always stare in amazement as they pass me. I don't stare in amazement when they pass *me.*Probably because I'm so incredibly slow. And I *know* that I'm incredibly slow. But these days at least, I *like* It IS a big adventure to try to figure out how to push the darn thing...my theory is that it's a core workout. The best thing about running with a stroller is running without it. I mean, what runner hasn't dreamed about magically losing a few pounds? I lose from 23-50 lbs when I can ditch the shortys... |

Not the one I planned (cause of the bloody snow) but I am not sure it will include training. Rolling with the punches today! |

I had just planned a short run for last night to see how my crampy calf was feeling. Got that done and it was ok, but then all night my foot was cramping! Ugh! This happens occasionally and I don't really know why, but for now I am just going to plod along. Also got 4 bonus miles on on the trainer so I could finish the epidode of 24. How did I get to the point that I'd rather fool around on the trainer rather than sit on my butt to watch tv? : ) I'm with ya on this! I just can't seem to sit and watch t.v. now...out comes the bike....hubby just rolls his eyes! |

Expert 1246 West Grove, PA | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge Got another 6 mile run in this morning. 11 down, 49 to go for the month. We got another 2-4 inches of snow... no big deal since I grew up in Syracuse, NY. But of course the kids school was delayed 2 hours and that makes for a fun morning... NOT! I need to get some trainer/spin time in or I'll start falling behind on the bike goal. There's a spin class at the Y at noon today... maybe I'll head over for that. Kim, that turkey, spinach, avocado, etc. wrap sounds amazing. It's been almost 2 hours since my egg white and salsa omlet, I am now officially STARVING. Time for a couple spoolfuls of PB... blechh. |

Only your Love goal counts towards the team totals and right now you've got 0 completed there. Someone (Dee?) added an extra column that averages all your monthly goals and that looks like it's working properly. |

Extreme Veteran 671 Not Quite DFL | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge KOM - I hear you on the bad day yesterday. I am hoping I can change the minds of the powers that be. If not, this will be one of my last posts, and who knows if I'll make any goals (which I finally put on the spreadsheet) or what time, if any, I will have for family and other activities. |

I was reading quickly, and somehow that 2-4 inches of snow got translated as 24 inches of snow. So when you said "no big deal," I looked like this --> |

Dear Sparky, Not ALL challenges are organized by me. :P It's Nicole's challenge, and Nicole's spreadsheet. She's only counting your "Love" goal in the totals. The other goals are there so people can track their progress, but they don't "count" for the challenge. So. When are you gonna run a challenge? Dee |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge Took a rest day today. By the time I could have gotten the kids to school, it was after 1:00. No point in dropping them off for 2 hours of school. Cole fell asleep on the way back anyway. So, we came home and crashed. Kids watched movies and I read my book and made my Lara bars. I haven't tried them yet but they look pretty much identical to the real deal. Nasty. Real easy too. I'll let you all know how they are tomorrow. If they are good, I'll post my recipe. |
