that's kind of annoying.

Sorry. Thats a dick move.

does it change things if her mom passed away a week ago (which i knew and assumed she would cancel then but said she still needed the weekend out of town) and the weather was kind of crappy in VA?  mr meh says i'm not allowed to give her a hard time about it but i'm still mad.

Kinda. You'll have to forgive her on that one. Doesn't excuse the lack of a call telling you, but she's got things on her mind now.
Yeah. Is this a one-off thing or has she done this in the past. Giving her grief about it right now would be even dickier.

Considering the circumstances, I think I'd have to give her a pass on this one.  Especially if she's a good friend, it's best to let it go and remember that her mom just passed away.

Excusable but maybe have her fill out a questionnaire to ensure that you can keep her as a friend....

Is that what people do to you, then tell you that you failed so they can't be your friend?

I've been doing nothing except researching openings and cooking. So far today I've made chopped chicken liver, bagel chips, roasted chicken and now chicken stock. Yesterday, it was soft pretzels and a full lunch and dinner. I think I'm moving to tamales for tomorrow.

Stress is high, patience is low...  Going to speak to the boss about a coworker.  That may be the only thing that saves me from kicking his arse (in a business sense).

His attitude sucks.  I feel like I'm putting him out when ever I ask him for some work.  I ask questions about his work and he has a way of making me feel like a for not knowing - like he's too cool for the room.  Then he sometimes laughs at weird stuff, like I'm the butt of some inside joke.

I can put up with some of it.  That's just how people are sometimes.  But it's getting out of hand and I WANTED to be the boss that's liked, but maybe I will have to change and be the boss that's a bit more demanding and my way or the highway.

You're his boss? Or his coworker? If you're his boss, I would say in a sternly worded fashion that his attitude is unacceptable and he better start pulling his weight or he's going to be selling fake IDs on the strip for a happy meal by week's end.

I like to call everyone a coworker.  We all  have equal roles in getting stuff done.  But technically, I'm his boss.  Project  manager vs CAD tech/designer.

project manager is the worse because you AREN'T his boss at all.  i'm debating taking a PM job here and situations like this one are making me hesitate.

Serious question; in 25 words or less, what is the real world working difference between a Project Manager and a Program Manager.

I guess technically, the owner is the only "boss".  But I direct and this guy works for me based on what I tell them to do and how I want it designed.

However, I tend to give people working for me a lot of freedom on how they want to design things for themselves but apparently, if direct differently for whatever reason, I have to argue for how I want it done.  That shouldn't happen.

the technical answer is a program is comprised of multiple projects, but in practicality the terms are interchangeable.

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.
