jdwright56 - 2008-01-08 2:16 PM Reallllly - well since my goal for this month was 21% more miles than I have run in any month in almost 4 years and more than 70% of what I have run in October, November and December, I think my goal was fairly set.  Can you say that your goal was 20% more than you ran last month?

Yup!

Last month I ran 154 miles .......... last time I checked 250 is over 65% more or so ......  And my peak ever was only in the 210 range in October of '06.

Not too mention that I'm scheduled to run over 300 miles but I was being realistic in that I may not get all those miles in.

Trash talking comes back and people get all defensive and edgy.  Go figure!!

Hmmm, you think that maybe when someone is already close to 50% done within 6 days of a 31 day challenge that there isn't a problem here?????

When you guys/gals decide to step up to the real mileage and go for a real goal, then come and talk to the real runners over on the LEM team!

Maybe I should have put down only 100 miles instead of 250 ...... then I could be done by this weekend!

Interesting... My Goal is 294% of what I ran last month... (L.E.M is sooo cool!

As I managed to get out for a whole 18miles in December, and I am traveling 3 weeks of January I thought 45 miles would be a fair amount, however, our team and all the trash talkers alike (you included Daremo) have worked well to get me out the door and logging the miles!!

Bring it on!! you talk trash, I get fired up to do more mileage. thanks!!

That's a good increase, and in truth mine was only a poor 250%, although with setting the new target that's now 555%....

you gonna call or fold!!!!!!!

No doubt about it - you are a way better athlete than me - I don't think there is anybody here that will argue that - you win.

By the way - go out and get yourself a new kidney and a new pancreas and then a year later, see how well you do.  Then, come to me and talk some trash.

Hey, you did ask if my goal was more than a % higher than last month ... I just responded that it was!  Didn't comment on anyone's athletic abilities, just that there is some serious sandbagging going on with the Scramblers! No need to get all defensive!

(And on a serious note, that is an amazing accomplishment!!  Holy crap!  Congrats on your recovery and successful operations!!  I wish you continued success!)

Thanks Rick - I appreciate the sentiment - there are actually two of us on BT that I know of.  Chris (cdom) is a kidney recipient that is doing well also.

My running buddy was going running today, so I felt guilty letting her brave the weather by herself. I feel like such a wimp when I think that it's cold when it's only 53 degrees and a small 20 mph wind.... but... I've been living in these temperate climes for the past 16 years.

It was fun running along the Embarcadarro watching the waves crash over the sidewalk. That just doesn't happen too often. The rain really kicked in just as I got back to the office.

5.2 more miles down. Only 39 more miles to go for the week and 84 more miles to go this month. Does anyone else think that running around and around for 130 miles a month is only somewhat pointless ?

Eh, I'd say my goal was fairly set.  I counted up my planned mileage for the month and set a goal that I thought was reasonable, yet challenging.

Isn't that the point of the challenge?

And I suck at trash talking. I'd rather go check out the boys in the BT Boys of 2008 thread

I guess it depends on what you are running from or toward... I usually picture it as me running away from an early death, McDonald's, or running toward my old age...

Hey Guys,

I just increased my target mileage on the spreadsheet as I said before, my new target will be 100 miles, I am now at 37, the original target of 45 was based on December's poor showing, who would have thought being in a team and working in a competition would have that much of a impact on enthusiasm.

Cheers All!!!

Go Scrambled Legs!!!!!!!!

Bleh! Now you have ME staring at it, too! LOL

I dunno. Maybe the entire Scrambled Legs team should stare at it awhile..... If it hypnotizes them, we can give "suggestions" and make them do funky things when they wake up... You know, like "Cluck like a chicken while running tomorrow."

That ought to impress their neighbors when they run down the street, flapping their arms and clucking.....

So. Does that mean Tinkerbell will be replaced soon?

Better yet - let's add "change your avatar to the clucking chicken" to our growing list of "hypnotic suggestions" for Team Scrambled Eggs.

I think they'd look good in yellow (feathers).
