My buddy just graduated as a Physician's Assistant. He has $1500 worth of school loans until...forever.

So he's looking at $50k starter houses that need some fixing, and he's finding a lot of them that could be nice with a little TLC.

If you could stand to do it, that'd be the way to go. That way he can get back on his feet until he starts making good money.

Foreclosures are a good place to look too, if you are handy with some remodel/rehab work.....  Plenty of those around here.

quick question please

if you were getting a commuter bike would it matter if it had 700c wheels?

I guess it depends on how the bike fits.

Actually, it depends on her height. Some women will fit better with 650c wheels (i.e., more petite), but with a commuter bike its tire *width* that's the comfort factor. 700x23 is going to ride more harsh (but roll faster) than say 700x28, 32 or 35.

OTOH, if you're going to stopping frequently and unclipping, 700x28c 's like Spud! has are very stable in downtown traffic... I don't have to unclip much, I can feather the brakes and do a slow rolling stop at most lights.

sorry.... that's kinda what I meant.  how it fit her size, height, etc.  but yes, what you said

My current neighbor does that as a hobby.  Buys foreclosed for cheap, fixes them and then resells to make money.  Has stopped for a while because it is kind of scary right now.

Ive never been petite my whole life thats for sure.  I plan to ride in regular shoes as it would be less to drag with me to work.  Here's what I want-something to get me to the gym to teach class in then take me on to my real job.  So I will be traveling with a gym bag to shower after I teach and change into work clothes so will probably just wear normal shoes since I will alread have my tennis shoes on and then change into my work shoes...I dont want to haul 3 pairs of shoes plus all the other necessities.  I never thought it would be so hard to figure out what to look at. If I can get it down to a couple I could atleast have a coin toss to make up my mind
