velcromom - 2010-12-15 7:34 PM Just made the jell-o, so I can have something kinda solid to eat tomorrow.  I have to say, I've never been told that it was okay to f*rt.  Maybe that's a geographical difference in recovery room conversation.  Or gender-based.  I'll let you all know.

btw, did you have to call ahead to request the hot nurse?

Cool

Not geographical and not gender based.  The nurse told Paul to tell me it was ok to f@rt alot afterwards.  It was my least favorite part of the procedure.

Doug, I think I am older than you and I had mine three years ago.   Totally based on a dr.'s recommendation.

PS  George, you're ok listening to people talk about crapping in an alley in Hawaii or peeing on their bike (note: it was the same person talking about both), but you're not ok with a medical procedure?  MAN UP Baby!

excuse me, but perhaps you are remembering incorrectly, it was not in an alley, it was out along the multi million dollar homes and someone's palm grove, thank you very much.  i am a discriminate crapper.  to quote your very words,

I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND!!!!

I'M JUST JEALOUS OF YOU DESIRE TO ACHIEVE AT ANY COST! YOU ARE MY FRIEND!

ps.  At least I can  outfont you!!!

You all crack me up!  I have nothing as exciting on the agenda as Linda but trying to finish up Christmas shopping, hope that snow does not close school tomorrow and going to a holiday party Sat. night.

What a great conversation to read about first thing in the morning!!

This is what makes this group great. I couldn't imagine telling co workers that a bunch of my 'imaginary friends' have been chatting about colonoscapys( or it is ies??) and crapping in the bushes in front on million dollar homes.
 Good times.

Gotta laugh about it!  Had my breakfast of Jell-o and pepsi.  Yum.

This my fourth scope.  I have a significant family history, and have had a few issues myself, so my doc is pretty aggrresive about scheduling these every 3 years.   I have a dear friend (45) who had one scheduled after she read an article about it, and they found a pretty advanced tumor that was giving off no symptoms other than some slight bloating.  She's fine now, but very lucky.   Don't ignore your doctor's recommendations!

I won't post pictures, I promise!  Although, Katie Couric did hers live on TV, probably got a major bonus for it, too.   Hmmmmmmmm maybe i could get a sponsorship out of this!!

I'm off to research whether or not white wine is legit.  Is it 5 anywhere in the MG?    Ooooohh.....or champagne!!

I don't think so... I am less than 3 months from 50! There is no way you're this old yet!

Back to training topics. I ran this AM! I mean actually ran. I did 3.18 miles in 30 minutes. Yes I am stiff a little in the calf but no pain in the achillies. I have sore quads, but I have to say I have missed having muscles sore like this. It just means I pushed them farther than they are used to and they will come back better from it. Having been able to work them this way is some time makes me appreciate this kind of soreness!

 Life is good!

Doing the happy dance for you!  Did your PT give you any post run instructions?  Me, I've been alternating between heat and ice several times to speed up blood flow to the area.

PS I had no idea you were so ancient   I guess the good news is you will be the youngest in your AG!

Thanks Linda. I borrowed Scottie's (halfpint) yesterday, and road with my coach a his house. Thanks everyone for the encouagement. I am running slowly, but at least it is running!

Suzy, my PT likes me to ice it and that does a world of good. She also likes for me to massage the achillies to work out scar tissue and help the fibers align.

Feel better soon, Tony.

So happy for you, Doug!

Nice to see two of our Linda's posting...where is Terps???  She must be done with her O'dark am run.  Oh yes, she is enjoying being happily married for 20 years!!

This is the 3rd time my exploits in Hawaii have been revisited and Kyla isn't even around to make me feel better.

I'm here!!! How can I help? Reminding you how it feels to pee on your bike (it goes in your shoes, eeeeew!)? Or being a partner in crime with my pee-soaked running skirt?

I gotta say, when/if I meet some of you in real life it will be refreshing to run with you and not have to worry about bodily functions grossing you out, ha ha!!! We all got 'em, that's for sure!!

And whenever you're feeling pooped out... Just remember IMFL Poop Guy. Holy Toledo is that an interesting one...

Hey gang I think I am the ancient here at 58 and haven't had to have the colonoscopy done yet. I have only had to poop on a stick and send it to the lab. You make it sound like so much fun with jello, flat pepsi, farting and hot nurses that I may just have to book one just for fun. I think we may have missed something in triathlon training if this is our main topic today

Off for my run. Have a good weekend everyone. Get better Tony and great to see you are back running Doug.

Welcome to the AG.  Now I really think I should race the Oly in Knoxville so we can go head to head!  Be warned, this AG is always really fast so don't think that moving up is going to make it easier.    Laughing
