For those of you who are cycling fans and want to watch more racing, found this article on VeloNews.  $10 a month sounds worth it to me!!

That's a great deal.  I was able to see some of the old UCI races on youtube but if this includes USN too that would add another dimension of distraction entertainment to my trainer sessions.  These cyclocross races are a lot of fun to watch.

Agreed.  That's pretty cool!

Do I need to rent a car to get from the airport out to Manitou Springs (west CO springs, near Garden of the Gods) It's kind of hard to tell what the public transportation is like.

I can't even figure out if there is a public bus that actually goes to the ariport.

Getting from the south end of the city to Manitou Springs is a bit of a haul and public transport would probably take hours. I think a car is the best option. That way you can also stop on your way at Bristol Brewing and a few other shops on the way.

Can I ask what your going for? How long you will be there etc. I lived in C Springs for 4 years a while back. Lots of good memories and places to visit.

Keep our little puggy Stevie in your thoughts today. She's got a lump on her chest that has really ballooned up in the last couple of days. She's been miserable as it's really uncomfortable for her to sleep which is her second favorite thing to do (eating comes in at #1 of course.) She's also been a little wheezy and her breathing seems labored.

She got initial xrays and the really good news is that it looks like the lump and the breathing are separate as opposed to the lumps actually having spread into her lungs, it looks like it is just fluid. She may just have some mild pneumonia. But we have a specialist looking at them and they also did some bloodwork to hopefully find out more about the lump. I may just be an abscess.

Good thoughts for Stevie and you and J!

Pikes peak ascent. Just a long weekend. Will be in a little cabin right there at Garden of the Gods. And I like where your head is at with the brewery Feel free to pile on suggestions but I wont have a lot of time. Probably just the time after the race which is on a Saturday and the time before my flight heads home on Sunday. Maybe a little bit Friday afternoon/night.

I think there are a bunch of other local breweries in CO Springs.  You've probably researched all of that and no public transport does make sampling their wares a little harder....

ETA:  Since I don't drink beer, I could help out with the transportation part of the brewery visits, should you decide you're "inclined" after your race.

Sweeet! I booked my tickets and place, I just have to register (registration isn't open yet.) I have a half marathon time that should qualify me for the first wave so I should get in. But ya never know.

Well, if you don't get in because it fills up before you can register or some other dumb reason, you should come to CO anyway.  Not doing the race would give you more time to see the sights, drink the beer, and most importantly, have a Manatee Meet-Up!!

You'd just have to come early to acclimate.  We've got a really active craft brewery culture (ahem) to help you carbo-load too.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
