kt65 - 2010-12-16 10:33 AM Feel better soon, Tony.

So happy for you, Doug!

Nice to see two of our Linda's posting...where is Terps???  She must be done with her O'dark am run.  Oh yes, she is enjoying being happily married for 20 years!!

This is the 3rd time my exploits in Hawaii have been revisited and Kyla isn't even around to make me feel better.

I'm here!!! How can I help? Reminding you how it feels to pee on your bike (it goes in your shoes, eeeeew!)? Or being a partner in crime with my pee-soaked running skirt?

I gotta say, when/if I meet some of you in real life it will be refreshing to run with you and not have to worry about bodily functions grossing you out, ha ha!!! We all got 'em, that's for sure!!

And whenever you're feeling pooped out... Just remember IMFL Poop Guy. Holy Toledo is that an interesting one...

Ditto Kyla, my kids tell me, "Gross Mom, you do that out there?"  Too funny.

Linda

Yep.  The look on my 14 year old son's face when I told him that racers sometimes pee while riding/racing on the bike was priceless.

So who here is left in their 30's?

I have until September, so joining the 40-44 AG next year.

Sam has 2 years.

I'm 37.5. Boy I am young.

Maybe that is why I have such a tough time relating to all you oldies.

Michelle is turning 40 in 20 days. Panic and chaos is starting to set in.

FWIW, turning 40 was more difficult than turning 50.  Not sure why.....

When running a marathon with my late FIL (I think it was Chicago), I totally had to pee at the start and it was pretty crowded. I noticed a dumster down a side street and ducked behind it to pee (while he and his brother peed as well, albeit not right where I was). He never let me live that down and always said that's when he knew what a great daughter-in-law I was. Thank goodness he looked upon it fondly and not any other way, ha ha!!!

Last day of school pre-break. Psyched to let the kids sleep in. Scared about CrazyKidEnergy next week. A big snowstorm would help... throw 'em outside and call it a day!!!

In more ways than one!

For me, 40 was nothing.  I ran my first marathon that year....everthing since then has been better than the year before.

Done.  And I lost 2 pounds.  AND I don't have to do it again for 2 more years!  No training today - supposed to stay quiet, not drive, not operate machinery, not make critical decisions, and not do activities that require coordination and/or balance.

End of my TMI posts!

Funny, when I looked at my Blackberry this morning and I saw Julia's "me too, to john's 39", it looked like Redknight Rob's avatar to me and I thought, good one, Jack Benny!

So, Linda---white wine or is that on the forbidden list?

Is Steve our mentor really the youngest one here???

Have a good weekend, everyone!

So my 6 year old came in from school and brought home one of his projects they hung in the school hallway.  They were to write down things that reminded them of Christmas.  Jones listed Bell, Candy, Beer, Gifts, Ornaments, Santa, Tree, etc.

Wonder what his teacher thought about that?

HO, HO, HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

All I needed was to find a whole smoked salmon to munch on and I would have Dan Ackroyd down perfectly.

LOL - he does look like a drunk Santa in that pic.  But I will have to say - he was a great Santa.  No kids cried and his own daughter did not recognize him.  And to top it off, she asked for a real puppy for Christmas!

As far as myself, good thing the pic was taken today.  I've eaten about 2 dozen cookies in the past 3 days!!!!!!!!

OK, but he runs too, so that's not really fair. But the video is good for a chuckle.

I really feel for you guys that have been injured and not able to work out.

I haven't done any workouts all week until last night and that was a simple 30 min spin on the trainer and I am going freaking crazy...

Read some bad stuff about working out with Bronchitis so all I can pretty much do is sit here and wait for it to run it's course...

Any suggestions?

Lots and lots of liquids, especially hot ones like licorice or robois tea.   I am also a big believer in keeping your body as alkaline as possible, taking amino acids and sleeping.  I continue to work out at a manageable level unless I'm close to death.

Right there with you Tony.  I have had a touch of the crud the last couple of days but finally did manage to get in an easy 5 mile run this afternoon.  Hope you get it knocked up quickly.

I've been sick too and was forced/chose to take 3 days off this week -- hated doing it but knew if I was out there I'd risk putting my body into a serious infection and losing a LOT more training time. My chosen therapy has been lots of Vitamin D (about 5K mg/day), Vitamin C (extra 3-6K mg/day -- some in the form of tablets, some in the form of Emergen-C), lots of liquids (water, hot tea), Sudafed, Robitussen (w/codeine at night). When I finally decided I could exercise again, I went out to run and was soooo slow I was barely breathing hard. But I didn't want to irritate my lungs -- I still had an impressive coughing fit after the run but during I was fine. Am  nearly  healed; still cough fits and still taking cough meds at night, but I can tell everying is making progress toward healthy. Never had a fever or a super painful deep cough, so thanked my lucky stars on that front!

Feel better, Tony!!! Barry too!!!
