mr2tony - 2008-06-19 9:17 AM Like when Tony Dorsett played for the Broncos for a season. Ugh.

He had to do it. Not every one gets a chance to play for THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!

You mean the 49ers? Cool

(they'll be back)

Yeah, Mike Martz is going to be the savior of the niners.  Just like he was for the Lions.  Do you guys even have an offense?

Mike is OK - well, if you got the tools like he did with STL - anyone could look good.

I'm NOT saying the Phil Jackson is a bad coach, one of the best.  But come on.  Having teams with MJ, Pippen, Shaq, Coby - I could even have a winning record....

rkreuser - 2008-06-19 12:01 PM Just a quick note...TAN seems to really enjoy misspelling words to get them past the filter. Don't do that.

So, that makes the TAN rules:

1) No LOL in TAN

2) No pictures in TAN

3) No trying to get naughty pictures past the filters.

Are you getting around a filter? Yes. You can take it from there, i'm sure.

Yes, but I'm not sure of the orginal word would be filtered in the first place.  I just write it like that all the time.

I guess I'm not sure I see the problem of typing "ef" that.  However I DO see the problem of transposing letters of the orginal word to get it through.

I don't want to cause a problem, but I don't want to feel THAT constrained and nervious when I type.  I will probably just go by the formula, if I have to think if it's ok or not - don't do it.

H E double hocky sticks......

Ok. Little post about something.

How do you guys deal with having your favorite player on your team getting traded? And I mean favorite to the point you got their jersey with name and number on it.

*sigh*

Who got traded?

Favorite player on Liverpool. John Arne Riise. Traded to Roma in Serie A Italian league.

Played for Liverpool for 7 years. Easily one of the top 50 players ever to wear the Red. But he is at the end of his career. Last year and a half it was painful to watch him play. Loss of pace. Poor decisions. Dramatically reduced goal production.

I knew he was on the way out. It doesn't make it any easier.

Sometimes it is really hard for star players to walk away. Very few get to pull a Jordan - sink the winning jumper in a championship series and quit.

Yeah.  No kidding.

And for the rest of you, YES, this was about soccer.  Sheesh.  Am I that predictable?

Oh, you're on thin ice there, Buddy.

A) They didn't just "have a winning record"

B) It takes a lot to get talented players to play well TOGETHER.

C) I could go on and on, but I won't.  =

I know, I know, the coach does NOT need to make players better (it helps), they need to get the player in the right place on the team to utilize their strengths AND get the team to mesh.  He (Jackson) is a MASTER of that - that's why I said he is one of the best.

BUT, it doesn't hurt to have a roster like that to start with.

Like a good starting hand in poker.  You can have 7 2 offsuit and still be winner with some good poker skills, but it's better to start off with A's or K's.  Just a fact.

I lof watching high school basketball.  I am okay watching college.  I hate NBA now that everyone sucks.

Love College.  Hate NBA.  Got into an argument with a guy once.  He was saying, "NBA has the best players in the world, how can you not like it."  I shut him up by saying "quality play isn't why I like college over NBA, the emotion and pride taken by the players, representing their school, state or city is what I love to watch.  Guys playing because they love to play.  Not getting paid and laying it all on the line.  That's what I like."

I was a Nordiques fan. Forget a player. How about your whole team abandons you and goes to another country and then wins a championship first year out after most of your life the team being in the cellar?

I was also an Expos fan.

It could be worse.

And then retire for a year, then unretire right in the middle of a playoff series, then retire again, then unretire after a failed baseball attempt, play mediocre ball with some less then stellar team.

Something like that....  This is jest.  I'm a HUGE MJ fan.  But stopped watching him the last couple years....

Actually, in a sport where one player can dominate the game the whole way, and you have the best player of all time on your team, it doesn't really take a lot of talented players to play well together. The Bulls had Jordan, they had a debatable allstar in Pippen, and pretty much a bunch of random plugins.

Only if you want to have to pull them out of various body cavities later.

BTW, Eric Lindros is a bunch of things I can't say here. A whole lot of them. I hate that guy.
