mr2tony - 2009-02-18 12:13 PM OK not to be insensitive but I loved this game in the 80s.

How is that insensitive at all?  Rampage was an awesome game.

Maybe to the guy who got mauled?  To bad for him....

I have been watching "1000 ways to die".  I laf at all the darwin award winners killing themselves.  Some are just accidents, so I feel a little bad for them....

Was it an enormous radioactive chimp destroying buildings in a video game? No....Ok then.  NEXT!

I don't think it has to be that hard.  I have found just counting calories is all I needed.  I would never eat something I don't like.

The only hard part is giving up foods I DO like.  Can't eat pizza or ice cream and stay under 2200 calories per day.

But I still eat what I enjoy, but keeps me under my calorie limit.  A huge salade with carots, field greens, candied walnuts, dried cranberries, a little vinagrette.  mmmmm  I can eat a TON of it and it's still only 500-700 calories....

You should smack me around a bit (ooo, baby).

For the last couple weeks, I have been using a styrofoam cup for each cup of coffee I have (usually 2-3)  if I'm too lazy to go back to my office to retrieve it...

I know I'm going to get lambasted for this.

But I think that's ok.  Unless you have specific performance goals, and every calorie counts and you have to put the best stuff in your body at all times....

Seriously, if I'm at 2000 calories at the end of the day, I feel I can have a couple hundred worth of ice cream and still meet my goals.  All the body know is calories for weight loss.  Granted, you could be missing some nutrients with ice cream, but if you got them in with the other meals, you should be ok....  For just general weight loss.

someone else can argue that.

It's a little more complicated than that, but a lot closer to what you're saying than never eating fat.

I tried to explain it, but it didn't make any sense to me.

Stupid headache.  My brain isn't working.

well, i mean for performance and weight loss, shouldn't cals in and cals out be all that matters?  it's the composition of the calories that determine WHERE the weight is lost....muscles?  fats?  waters?  etc.

From your friendly vegetarian:
I'd be willing to wager that if you gave up meat for even just half of your weekly meals you'd drop more pounds than not. Try it. Prove me wrong

Of course, you can't replace it with a bad choice. Try replacing meat with another source of protein like beans. Black bean and veggie enchiladas? You won't miss the meat, I promise.
