You are hard core - I would never consider biking in that!

Glad you were able to have a nice family day!  I am sure your boys really enjoyed it.

loeber - 2010-02-16 9:20 AM WOW. Sounds like some crazy/busy weekends.
My wife worked all weekend so I tried to fill it up for my two boys and a couple of their friends.
On Saturday we went to Banff National park and hiked up to the frozen falls and watched the ice climbers do their thing.
Sunday I managed to get in a little run.
It was Family day up here yesterday and there was a bunch of "family friendly" things to do, The local theater opened at 8:00AM and we saw the new/old chipmonk movie for free, then to the Zoo and toured the butterfly pavillion. Then off to The Royal Tyrell Museum, No little boy can resist a trip to one of the biggest collections of Dino bones in the world.
It is only 2 degrees below freezing this morning so I have my bike in the truck and I am determined to FINALLY ride it, I've been looking at it in my basement for the last 2 months and today is the day, as long as the snow holds off.

Sounds like a great weekend & family day Dan! Rock on!  The ice climbers sounds cool... or would that be cold? lol! Anyways, I would like to see that!  Not do it, just watch!

Yes, the GS cookies are in the house!  EEEeeeeevvviiillllll!    I have the worst dad-blasted sweet tooth! I am hoping the kids devour them before I can put any kind of dent in them!

This is not a training condusive week!  And of course the weather is nice! It's a frickin' conspiracy!

A long work day yestreday and I was not eager to do much in the way of training... thought about finishing up the push-ups at the second job, But I want to make sure my back is good to go, before I do that... works the core good doing 200+ push-ups.  So yesterday was a wash!

Today... well the weather is amazing! Between work today and an appointment with my tax guru this evening, I may only be able to squeeze in another spin on the trainer around 8ish.

Tomorrow is an earlier than normal day (thanks to another training class, then its overtime in the afternoon/evening) So tomorrow is a 7a-10p kinda day!  Thursday, maybe an AM hit, but then its back to the 2nd job in the evening...

Finally, Friday... another early morning for the final training class for a month or so (no AM session), then I have the evening...  I am hoping to smell like chlorine come dinner time!

If all goes as planned, I will try and resume some semblence of my shattered training plan come Saturday...

Happy Fat Tuesday everyone!

bzgl40 - 2010-02-15 10:42 PM PSA:  Do NOT go to the grocery store.  They have all their leftover Valentines chocolate on sale.

In the lucky/unlucky category: I have a student who will bring me Godiva chocolate on various holidays. I got some from her on Friday and it is definitely calling my name. I'll indulge, eventually. Smile

I had an insane weekend...working the video job on Saturday which entailed more than 12 hours of videoing a dance competition...and most of that 12 hours was standing. Ugh. Add on top of that a million technical/audio issues I had to deal with throughout the day. It's never fun, but the money helps support the triathlon addiction.

Didn't think after being on my feet all day Saturday that my 3x Sunday workout would be worth a damn, but it actually was my best training session I can ever remember. I was running a faster pace at what seemed to be an easy RPE and even killed the hills and managed a good average pace for the duration. In the pool I kept picking up the paec because I felt so good. Maybe the key to great training is to do something absolutely miserable the day before in order to appreciate the fun of hill repeats. Laughing

I'm having a great week so far and am starting to feel the reality of the HIM approaching. Hard to believe it's less than 10 weeks out.

Oh HELL to the NO. Those damn GS biotches. I swear to god they stalk me. I think they put a secret marker in my yard to show I am a sucker. I know the same girl came by my house and sold me cookies 3 times last year. Its the damn Tagalongs and the Do-Si-Dos. They know I cannot resist. I am going to get a GS life size doll and hang it by a noose on my door and have a huge cardboard sign with cookies and a big red circle with the line through it. I am not going to fall for that buying boxes four times this year. Maybe just 2 or 3. I mean they work hard for thier money. Plus I am just getting cookie for my kids....

We have TWO Girl Scouts in the house so you know we're in trouble!  I am hoping the caloric information on the side of the Thin Mints box is for a SLEEVE!  Yes?  A girl can hope, right?  LOL
We have 4 CASES in my office right now.  Thankfully most of these are not ours but more than I want to admit are.

Thanks for the heads up....first stop on my way home from work

I {heart} GS Cookies!  I just wish I had somewhere to buy them.  None of my cousins are in GS anymore and no co-workers have GS daughters either.  I'd like to say it's for the best...but I'd only be kidding myself.

I have a giant sweet tooth and absolutely zero self control when it comes to cookies, ice cream, candy, cake....you get the point.

Sounds like everyone had a busy/crazed/exciting weekend.  Glad to hear trips were still had, prizes were won and houses are still standing w/ everyone safe.

Compared to all that my weekend seems like it was kinda quiet.  I did a 5k on Sunday.  One of my big goals for 2010 is a sub-8 min pace 5k.  Didn't think it was realistic for this race..my legs didn't feel fresh and I just didn't feel like I was running that fast.  The last mile of the course was filled with hills, and I decided to see how useful my hills workouts have been.  I don't have my splits but pretty good chance this was my fastest mile of the race.  I was shocked when I hit the finish at 24:12 (@ 7:48 pace)!  PR by over 1 minute

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend. I can't believe it's Wed. Kelly congrats on the 5k PR. 1 min is huge.GS cookies are so dangerous. Last yr our CEO's daughter came and sold over 400 boxes to our office. Needless to say no one wanted to bring them home so we had cookies all over the office. Our clients were very impressed.Had a good weekend. My kid had his last interview for preschool, we find out from all the schools the last wk of Feb so hopefully he gets into one! Had a stager and photographer come to our apt to take pics of our apt to list the thing for sale. Went to out new new apt and they just finished the demo, the entire living room floor to ceiling is covered with garbage and the wife and I had a nice date night that consisted of looking at light fixtures and seeing Avatar in imax 3d, the movie is pretty cool.. No training but plenty of running after the kid.
