fattyfatfat - 2009-04-15 1:50 PM PB of sorts...just heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time.   this is #3 buts its still very cool.

We have three kids and I can say, in our house, the third added just a little more chaos, but so much love & fun.
I think the sex is what really determines the impact...we had two boys and our third was a girl.....oh, the drama! Smile

Honestly, I think each one brings its own blessing.  Congrats!

Edited to add my name : Linda (great idea Suzy)

Wow Linda..."I think the sex is what really determines the impact" ..At 1st I read that and thought  wow she is really wanting to take this group into new territory!! I like it!!

#3 is great.  The Hectic meter goes up about 5 times.  But the fun meter...it simply explodes.

2 is plenty for me thanks.

Congrats!!! But I'm with Tony - 2 is the magic number.

Disclaimer: We've only had two for a little over a month, I reserve the right to change my mind in 12 months.

My first thought was "who's having sex with three kids in the house?????"  Then I realized sex = gender.

Editted for ripping rights, Tony, get your butt into the Potomac and start your OWSing. If I can be out there you can too!!!

That's awesome...  I can't wait to hear about the race..  especially the swim!  I heard the neoprene caps and socks help..  my wife bought me both, i haven't tried either one yet.  Good luck and think warm things!

Did anyone have this happen to him or her?  After my run and short workout I decided to swim..  I felt good and thought I might as well increase the workout.  I did a warm-up and did my long set.  During my rest I decided to practice my flip turns.  During my 4th flip turn both my legs cramped!  it caught me off guard and drank some water and coughed while not being able to stand-up..  The lifeguard asked if I was ok and I couldn't even answer him initially.  It took me 5 min just to get out of the pool.  I spent 10 min in the hot tub and stretched and felt 100%..  it was pretty embarrassing

I've had some bad muscle cramps, but not in the pool.  We don't have a lifeguard, so if I feel a little off, I tend to play it safe.  Sounds like someone needs to eat some bananas though.  It usually helps me, not immediately, but if I eat a banana a day, those lock-up type cramps don't happen!

Given the run  you did before I am not totally suprised.  If I go to the pool immediately after swimming and try to kick a lot my calves cramp up.  Did you cool down and stretch, take in some electrolytes?  If not, that might be a solution.  Otherwise, it might be worth waiting an hour or so before tackling the swim.

I have to remember to stretch..  But I did drink a diluted sports drink.  I pretty much went from running to strength to swimming.  I totally forgot to stretch!

A couple of weeks ago I ran 3.5 miles to pool to swim a mile, and toward the end, my hams cramped as I pushed off the wall.  Had to cut it short.  And I didn't stretch prior to jumping in.

Morning everyone.

Felt awful yesterday morning, ended up having one of my best swims ever later in the day, glad I skipped masters.

One of these days I really need to get over my swim issues and sign up for some longer events.

I am taking some OWS lessons LOL so now I have masters coach, swim coach & OWS coach.  Don't have a coach for running or cycling but it takes 3 for me to swim...

10 Pages????  How am I supposed to keep up with this?  I don't have time to train and read 200+ messages

Ai'ght, I'm going to create a mentor group html table.  Send me a PM and I'll add your name onto the table.  There are just way too many pages for me to go through and find who's in.  I hope to get the table done this weekend.

I'll try to get caught up on the past few days of reading so I can start to learn up about ya'll.

Otherwise, my family just took a little trip to an indoor waterpark (essential in Michigan).  Had a really fun time!  Today is my 'in-between' day for work.  On yesterday, off today and back on tomorrow - 24 hours at a time is really only good when it comes to my 3 and 5 days off.

Ok, I look forward to hearing from you, PM me and I'll get you on the table.

I would go crazy if I had to sit in front of a desk all day.  Or even dress up in a suit, absolutely crazy!  I love my job.  I normally have an opportunity to get in a workout.  Sometimes the job is workout!  I usually take my laptop to work.  After 5pm is our personal time, so I can pretty much do whatever I want, be it on the compy or treadmill or in front of the tv... which too many of our guys do.

Hello again,

After many health issues, I think that I am finally back!!  Yeah me!!  Way behind in my training, but determined to do my best and do some races this year - not everything that I had originally planned, but I will do some!  I have been logging my workouts this week (rather embarrassed by them, but it is a start).   I can't wait to get back in the loop.  Hope everyone is training hard.  Keep up the good workouts!

I think I must be getting more clumsy or accident prone as I mature. I had a couple of good workouts yesterday but at the end I rolled over on my ankle and pulled a ligament in my ankle. Doc says no running for a while but I can still bike and swim. Maybe I'll just have to stop all these other sports and focus on my triathlons. (Nah... won't happen I like the other sports too much to.)

Rob

Hey there!  I had a good 5 mile run last night despite doing it on the TM.  The weather was gorgeous yesterday but by the time we got home from our daughter's soccer game (she plays on the freshman team at her HS) and got dinner and other household chores taken care of, it was too late to get outside.  I also just wasn't feeling like running so figured if I got on the TM I could quit early if I needed to.  But it went well and I got the planned 5 miles in.

On a NTR-related note (sorry, I need to brag a little hereSmile), our DS is planning to study architecture next year at college.  He's been taking some architecture classes in HS and really likes it - and according to his teachers, he's pretty good at it too.  So yesterday he told us that the principal came to their class and has asked them to submit designs for additions that are being made to the school.  If approved, some of their designs could be incorporated into the plans for the additions.  He is really excited about the possibility that something he helped design could become part of the school.  They got about 4 weeks to work on it, so we'll see what happens.

Janet--you have nothing to be embarrased about.  You're back and that is what counts!

Rob-can you really claim to be mature?

Trevor--I don't normally do anything you say , but here is the pic you requested. Me and the man last summer.

Did my last Mad Town run today, skipped my swim to keep myself in one piece and am packing.  Hitting the airport in the morning, the expo in the afternoon and then going in search of fast Kenyans, Ryan Hall and Kara Goucher, all people I admire.  Make it a good day.

Suzy (in keeping with the request to put our names on our posts!).

Karen welcome back!  I am glad you are feeling well!

Tony---3 swim coachs? WTF?  That is a lot, but I am glad you like them all! I don't even think Michael Phelps has that many coaches !

Trevor- Here is a picture that is my favorite.  It from Ironman last year and was about 4 miles into the run... I was ready to call it a day!  However, stopped playing mental mind games with myself and got after it (as much as I could) and finished better than 3 years ago...

I prefer you KICK butt on Monday, but that is just a play on words I guess...

BTW-  Stanley.... I am still laughing about your swim.  I know the feeling.  I get them in my calves when I swim.  As soon as I kick off the wall I nearly drown.  I have battled it for years.  I laugh with... not at!
