Yanti (and Mutti) - big, big hugs and healing melon presses.

New manatees - HI!!!!  Welcome!

Metric system - I can take you or leave you except for Celcius which is WTF.  My brain doesn't handle C-F or F-C conversions easily because there are no easy conversions!

Jo, need more details about your trail runs

Erin, remind us what IM Jason is training for?

Congrats on your races Jonathan TN and BenRandee, Tom, Stacey and TJ!

Welcome new Manatees!!!!!

The BolderBoulder experience was incredible and our weekend in Denver was wonderful in general. As usual, we did our part to support the Denver economy. Will compose my RR when I get to a real computer. But a couple high points were watching Shalane take second and having Ryan wave at DS2.

Dear sweet Yanti....

I'm sure you handled the conversation with the owner with utmost tact and kindness, and still with the necessary firmness. You've a gift for that. Take care of you and take care of Mutti knowing that we're all thinking of you and praying for you. :-*

Ever double-book yourself? So this weekend I was at a friend's wedding late Sunday night in Michigan.  Then realized the 5K I had scheduled was 9 AM Monday morning.  Either I had to drive back at Midnight or wake up at 3 AM and drive back.  Needless to say both were impossible propositions.  I skipped on the 5K.  Some things just have to be done!

I wash my trail and/or road running shoes if they get too muddy.  They get hosed off outside, first, then put in the washer.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who does/considers this!

Heyyyyyy y'all---Super-Late-Kate here--I am all in once again, just been a slacker in here. No wifi at home means I can only get on this site at work (it is just TOO tiny on my cell!)--I'll try to get my bio in here soon enough--long story short--I'm having to re-plan the rest of my racing season due to severe lack of fundage--I've got to get everything sorted money-wise, and THEN I can actually get signed up for events. Eesh. Apart from that stuff, all is well on all fronts!

Welcome to all new and returning Manatees!

Welcome to new and returning Manatees.  Here are a couple of items for anyone that is interested:

 Manatee Dictionary

Manatee Bike Gallery

If you post a pic of your bike, we'll add it to the album. We have a couple of other tools we use to keep tabs (stalk?) on one another, such as Google+, Twitter, Strava, etc. If you'd like to be added to any of them, post in here or PM Janyne . If you need help with any of the tools in BT (inspires, logs, friends, blogs, what have you), please do not hesitate to ask. There are a few folks in here that are really willing to help you out with anything you may need. I am in the process of updating the table in my  logs and adding friends to my list.

Deeply touched by your kind words and empathy. Tough also so soon after losing Ryder kitty.

But there's a rainbow, almost literally, although this story makes me tearful from both sad and glad ...

My friend Giles passed away a couple weeks ago; young (early 30s), dapper, clever, funny, generous ... he was a piglet of mine once. Totally unexpected heart attack and as many of you know, you're likelier to die from them if young.

His kitties came to their new home at the Funny Farm today (in the most capable hands of a very happy Hobbit Maid now).

Hi Sonya great to have another Aussie - that makes 3 of us. Don't convert for them, it's good to make them realise they are the only country stuck in the dark ages every now and then (Saying that I sometimes do)

I'm not feeling the love here

I got your 'Murican back! Not sure how helpful that is...but I got it.

Thanks, I'll take all the back protecting I can get!

NAME: Elizabeth
STORY: I recently lost 80 lbs and taking away my coping mechanism of eating, I needed something new. Exercise is ALMOST as good as overeating I am a former soccer player and very athletic. Want to lose 15 more lbs to get to my goal weight and exercise to gain energy, relaxation and stress relief.
FAMILY STATUS: single
CURRENT TRAINING: Started last week, it was great! Took discipline and planning but loved it.
THIS YEAR'S RACES/EVENTS: Chicago Triathlon (Olympic) at the end of August
BODY COMPOSITION: 15 lbs away from goal weight. Pretty fit but with a lot of belly fat I'd like to get rid of.

Congrats on the weight-loss!

Along those lines...Please use your Beginner Triathlete training log.  At one point Yanti said that it's required: "Keeping up your training log here on BT and opening it to other group members is mandatory."  DOOO EEET!

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
