You made the whole experience seem so transcendant that it almost makes me wanly to do an ironman. Almost being the operative word.

Ok I'm ready, got a second cup of tea, moved to the computer rather than my phone, I'm sitting comfortably - bathroom breaks have been taken.

Here we go.

Funniest moment today and it's only 9.30 - Artemis playing doctor, gets her stethoscope and listens to my heart, then screws up her face and says "ew yucky I got your boob germs on it!"

Hey - magical birthday day for me!

Started by taking Artemis to triathlon training in the rain and thunder - she loved it and they got an OWS in!

Then I went swimming 2.4km of sprint sets.  Then out for lunch.  Then a trainer ride of 1 hour, then a brick run of 30mins.

LOVE IT!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

I just ran 21.8km let's call it 22km and I felt every one of my 48 years on the last 4km.  I truly did!

Yesterday, I got in my 30 by walking around the art museum.  There is an awesome Chihuly glass exhibit.  Will probably end up going again to see it.

Today, I ran 51-ish minutes.  Was supposed to be 4 - 5 miles, got in 3.75 instead.

I have been off the web for the past few days. Ann and I went to Busch Gardens on Friday (loooong day), then to Cocoa Beach on Saturday to see DD2 and give her the car. Sunday was church, caroling with the youth group and catching up on the rest of the things that needed to be done for the weekend. Yikes, I needed to get back to work so that I could relax. I tried to read through all that has gone on with ya'll and I am barely getting through all that. Pleae know that you are all in my heart and on my mind as the days go by.

Prayers for all of you, please hug your kids and know that whatever happens in life, it is family and friends that matter most.

Asalzwed - 2012-12-17 9:40 AM Hit 2,500 2012 running miles on Sunday!!

Holy crap.  I have just barely hit 2500 KM in biking...  Congrats, that is an amazing accomplishment!

I got my JoGo on Saturday with a run/walk (my first in about a month).  I did 7x run 1 min, walk 2 min.  No achilles issues during or the next morning, so that is good.  Started a new exercise yesterday that has it mildly unhappy this am, but that is to be expected.  JoGo yesterday was a 30 min dog walk.  Only 3 more sleeps to Vegas!!

Well I managed to get my Jogo's in this weekend. I did 30 min of yoga friday, 2.5 hours of bike on saturday and just shy of 80 min running Sunday. The cold is all but gone. Still sniffling and coughing some, but the only training session I missed due to the cold was my Wed masters.

We were busy with church stuff all weekend. This week I'll be baking for the Christmas parties up in Colorado next weekend (cue Colorado Christmas by NGDB). AND we have tix to see the premiere showing of Le Mis tomorrow night!!!!!!

Hope all y'all had a great weekend. Happy MondayUndecided

I don't know who mentioned SI joint pain, but I think that's what's going on with my right hip.  Now I just have to figure out how to fix it.

I think that was me. I had it bad a year ago. It still sometimes bothers me.

I found this PDF which describes and illustrates the exercises I do.

When I do the "belt" one, I have Ben place resistance on the side of my knee, first one way and then the other.

I especially love the second one under "More Exercises to Strengthen . . ."

Don't forget, as all the newbies come out of the woodwork and flood your usual routine as the new year approaches, that was you at some point. Try your best to be patient and helpful if need be. In fact, go out of your way to be really sweet to someone random. It might change their life.

So, I received some good news/ not too bad news from the doctor today. The goods news is that the treatment I've been doing for my foot has paid off to the point where I've been given the ok to start running again. I have to ease into it, but it's a start! The bad news is I have to get orthotics, so I don't keep re injuring the affected ligament. I had plaster casts done of my feet today, so sometime after New Years I should be rocking orthotics.

Also great news. Not only is it better but you also have a preventative solution. I think that is good news/good news

To quietly meditate and enjoy the stars in the night sky.

Just for a little holly-day.  We were supposed to go to Disneyland last Christmas, but my doggy got sick so we didn't go.  The change fee to go to LV was way less than Disney, so off we go.  I got on Groupon Las Vegas a couple months ago and got quite a few half-price deals Laughing.

I can tell you that my orthotics made a world of difference for me--before them, my heel would hurt so bad running.  I actually wear mine all the time now, and my back doesn't hurt as much.
