Hiller was absolutely amazing. Tough loss for the SUI. Hiller has been crazy good this entire Olympics. It is going to be damn hard for anyone to beat the US if he continues to play like this. Can't wait for the Canada vs Russia game in 2 hours. Actually I was talking about Jonas Hiller, the goalie for Switzerland...No doubt that Ryan Miller has played very well, but Hiller(outside of the one "fluke" goal he allowed in today's game was outstanding. |

So I am the only one (out of 25) in the office because I've skipped out of work early so many other days due to Olympic activity that I thought I needed to make some time up. Our president put the Canada vs. Russia game up in our boardroom using our projector and then he left, leaving me alone. I think it's his way of saying, "Don't work too hard." James - How was your time in Vancouver? |

I watched the different slow-mo scenes, and noticed one "slight" bump, but noticed a slight "falter" from the Chinese girl and thought that she was uncomfortable with being too close. The judge must have really scrutinized that to make the call, or had some biasness. Dunno. |

Then again, I never applied but if I did I'm sure I wouldn't have been picked. I would have been embarrassed to take that bronze medal in this situation. The U.S.A. got destroyed and the deserving gold medal winner is going home with nothing. I just couldn't do it with a clear conscience. |

It is a little hard to enjoy watching them win though when they had twice as many training runs on the course as anyone else. On a course as difficult as this, that is huge. I know that there is always some home field advantage, but that is a bit much for me. |

I believe the rules read that it is the responsibility of the passing skater to make a clean pass. The South Korean girl was in front but never completely cleared the Chinese girl who still had the right to her lane, so I could see how the call could be be made. It could have gone either way in my opinion. |

The track has been open since December 2007 and has been in the world cup for almost 2 years now. It's not like this track was made 2 months ago and no one has had a chance to go down it. It's no different then anywhere else in the world, most of your practice will be at home and if home is going to be the Olympic course would you not take every opportunity to train there? For the most part the people who win on the world cup are winning here. Yes we do have an edge being at home but so will the Russians in 2014 as will the next host nation. |

There has been an unwritten agreement since 1980 between the US and Canada to allow unlimited training on each other's tracks which Canada did not honor this time. And I'm sorry, but the two Canadian sleds who won medals last night have had no where near the success on the WC circuit that they had yesterday (especially the sled that came in second). |

Which ironically were the top 5 teams going into the final run. Germany underperformed and would have had the a medal if they didn't crash and Canada and the US slightly over performed. Edited by Global 2010-02-25 9:44 AM |

This will be the first gold in a nordic event. alas, they didn't... I know . I figured this one was in the bag after the jumping. So yes I am stunned. Another silver in a nordic event at the Olympics. That makes 3 now with 2 at this one. If you saw Sweden blow a HUGE lead after the 3rd leg of the World Championship 4x10 x-c relay a few years ago you'd know that nothing is ever in the bag when it comes to nordic racing. Anyway...still a huge result for the U.S. in the nordic combined. I was screaming at the t.v. the whole time. Billy's skis were just not fast enough for the conditions that day. On another note, the way Peter Northug (NOR) came back from 5th place after the 3rd leg of the 4x10 x-c relay last night to take the silver (which in itself is a disaster for Norway) was frickin' awesome...that guy is an animal. |
