What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Thanks for making an exception and having tour reports public

That made me chuckle. My life is way to boring to worry about keeping it secret.

I can beat that - my life is usually so boring that I keep it secret out of embarrassment!

Heading over to RRs now...  I love a good RR!

In fact, just realized I never did a report for my last race last year, just did a quickie while I still remember most of it.

Doesn't matter if I tell or don't, people never really believe it anyway. Several hours a day will be spent going back & forth in the pool, running in place on a treadmill, or sitting in place on a bike. This is seen as quite enjoyable, so what the heck kind of crazy shenanigans can really be expected from someone like this?

Wait wait wait - so there were 3 or 4 manatees in Vegas at either the same time or close to the same time and there were no meetups?!  Sigh.  Dropped the ball there, kids.

Welcome back, Chris!

Welcome back, Chris!

Thanks, I am trying to get things settled, but after 8 days of being out of the office, well, we all know the drill. I have a condensed day one in my log, for those that are interested. It is on last Tuesday.

Sooo, am I supposed to wash my bike? Peggy the city bike has an internal hub, so her care and feeding needs are minimal. With road biking now on the table, what do I do? Googling is bringing up a LOT of stuff, so if someone can point me to the good links, I would be most grateful!

Popped in here for you guys to wake me up.  I'm reading the protocol for an upcoming clinical research study I will be working on. Yup, it's as zzzzz as it sounds.  I'm only on page 7 of 69 pages...it makes me feel very ADHD trying to focus on all the acronyms and medical mumbo jumbo.  But hey, at least I can do it standing!  I've been thoroughly enjoying my standing desk in the week that I've had it.  I knew I would use it a lot, but I'm standing even more than I anticipated I would.

I'm sitting but trying to organize a work trip to the Keys. Rough, huh?

What brings up the decision to wash it?  Is it covered in mud/bugs/crud or you are just asking about general care?

If it's super muddy, I'd recommend lightly hosing it off and using a light cleaning spray and a rag to clean it.  When it's dry, relube the chain, derailleurs, etc. and it will be fine.

General cleaning?  Skip the hosing off and do the above.  If there are a bunch of bugs I may let the soapy spray sit on those areas a bit longer.

Personally I use a big bottle of bike wash I got at the LBS on sale, but I think Simple Green would do the same thing.  When the cleaning is done, I also like to spray a little Pedro's Bike Lust on and wipe it down just to add a level of protection and shine (it's a silicone-based protectant).  Just be sure not to get Bike Lust on your rims as it will make your brakes work less good, or if you do get some on, wipe the rims down with a rag with Simple Green (or whatever cleaner  you are using).

In all fairness, the name Baker to Vegas does pretty much indicate that you were going to be there.  I think that the others should have PM'd you!

Here is the Google album of the trip. It is a work in progress, roughly 350 pics that I need to clean up. You know, if you are completely bored

To the logs.  A trip to Tampa would mean that Kevin and his dad are getting along (well, it's not that they aren't getting along, it's that Kevin does not exist because he is not his dad's second wife's spawn -- or something like that).

Best wine type tour?

What zoo did you go to?

Favorite campground/town?

Best thing that you did in San Francisco?

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
