Neil,

I think you could go lower but I would guess your head and helmet position as shown in the photo are likely bigger limiters than getting lower. Normally I would suggest lower but since you can't easily do that, try working on your turtling and maybe tilt your helmet a bit backwards to get the tail close to your back.

Here's a shot from an oly a couple of years ago:

Neil, I'm thinking turtle as well (know what that means?). You would have to do that anyway to lower the front even slightly or could find yourself a bit too folded up. Your head is rather high and the helmet is way off your back. Not everyone needs it right on, but usually that's better to go, or at least get closer to.

Chris, the H3's are very good wheels, but I also lean towards the cover. I forget, would power be available to you then? Also, aren't the H3's very narrow tires, like 19? A bigger tire should get a slight bit more comfort and could get some rolling benefits as it could absorb the bumps better.

Any plans for this weekend besides following Yanit at IMWA?

Do I stick it out in 33-37F temps for a ride outside or use the trainer? Every year at this time I'm always wondering when the last outdoor ride for a few months will be.

I've given up hope for the winter.  I will likely be trainer bound until at least March.

Going for a long ride tomorrow, then will pick up my packet for the Honolulu Marathon which is on Sunday.  I only plan to do about 11 miles of it (from 11-22) and will spectate the rest of it.  Hopefully I won't get yelled at for cutting the first 11 miles of the course

Slowtwitch is watching....

I'll be running a 5k at the track tomorrow.

Welcome Ben.  No, I don't have power on the road.  Only the CT

I have no idea what is on my bike.  How do you tell?  All I know for sure is it is a compact.

There might be an easier way but you can just count the teeth on the smallest and largest cogs of the cassette.

11-25 if my counting skills are on point.  Which is completely different then any numbers you guys thrown out.

Just curious if you two found the tooth count etchings in the cogs. Every cog should have one, like "19T". Well, some spider assemblies are funny, but most every one.

Aw, thanks!

Honolulu Marathon! My favorite! I've done it twice and it was my first ever endurance race. Even have it tattooed above my ankle with a honu

So many crazy people and costumes and Christmas spirit. Oh, and Japanese guys pulling over for a smoke break. It's awesome.

Yeah, it seems kind of hallowed timing for me as IMWA is 8 years to the day after that first oh-so-fateful road race.

What is funny is when I lived in Oregon I'd go out in that (and most likely it would involve rain).  Now that I live in AZ....hell no.

I've seen those before but at that time the bike was on a trainer in a cramped corner and looking for that would have required too much effort.

I couldn't figure out the timezone thing either so when all else fails, I ask the Google

It's a straight 12 hours for me

What did we do before Google.  Used our fingers I guess.  Tina worked in NZ for a month so I spent a month totally confused trying to track my 4 work timezones and then figuring out when it was a good time to call NZ and what frigging day it was there

WA is 13 hours ahead of us on the east coast. It's bedtime for her, although based on her FB activity she's still up.

Funny how you stuck "buy a car" in between "run a little and a coffee/donut." I hate car shopping but fortunately only do it about once every 7-8 years.
