Subject: RE: IMLP watching threadThank you everyone for all of your support and advice over the like 2 years I've been on the website. It was a tough day out there- the swim was just brutal, the winds really picked up the second loop (a little before the big downhill stretch there is some much smaller downhill areas- with the wind it felt like I was climbing not desceding. It started off cold on the bike (it was like 46 before the race) but got warmer as the day went on. The run was hot in the beginning, even with how late I started the run. Then it got pretty chilly on the run. But amazing volunteers and spectators out there, and the last 2.5 miles especially, even finishing just after 11PM was unbelievable with all the spectator support, like nothing I've experienced before. And oh year, I ran the entire marathon, no walking breaks even at the aid stations (I can drink when running without any problems). It was slow, but I can run that pace all day long. Still wound up in medical- I fell on the bike when I dropped my chain and cut up my leg a bit, but they measured my temperature and it was like 93-94 degrees according to them so they made me stay in there even though I felt fine and really never felt cold. |
