Total Time = 39m 41s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 470/670
Pre-race routine:

Chatting with friends and trying to find a safety pin for my number.
Event warmup:

Jogged on the spot, stretched PLENTY!!!
Run
  • 39m 41s
  • 3.58 miles
  • 11m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

There were so many people doing this, 16,000 it said on the news. There really wasn't much room to stop and walk so I just kept going. My Nike+ kept in constant check with my time and distance. It was totally accurate! My faster mile was 11:04 which for me is brilliant! I just ecstatic with this result, it's really my best yet.
What would you do differently?:

Sprint a little more.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking 10 blocks to meet up with my other 3 friends to Starbucks to meet my husband who was driving us all home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just experience. Need to do more sprinting to build up my endurance.

Event comments:

Will do this again next year for sure and try to beat that time by at least 5 minutes :)

Great job, Lynne!  Congrats on the fast time.  I will try to run it with you next year, although I really hate driving on the viaduct, much less running on it (earthquake fear).

It is amazing what you did in this race....after spending a month "Running With Scissors" then anything after that should be a piece of cake.

Great Job.

Congrats! I did this race, too, and it was so much fun. I was told before to expect tons of people, but it wasn't too chaotic. The course was fantastic...and I also set a PR...because its a weird length (3.58 miles).

My new Garmin isn't calibrated, and I didn't think that was a problem, but apparently it was waaaaaaay off. I got to the first mile marker and couldn't believe it --- my Garmin told me I was only at .92 miles. I have been wondering why I was running so slowly in training!

Great job again, Lynne...now where are the race pictures? They are taking so long with them.
