Hey all,  Figured since we were in Feb already that it was time to start a thread.  Is everyone ready?

I'm 50/50 about coming up for this race.  Does anyone have any opinions about the race, the organization, the course, etc?  I used to live in Ft. Worth so I am some what familiar with the area.

Compared to big races like Austin and Dallas this race is fairly small... but well worth it. Overall its a tough course but the organization and post race is great. It still has that small race feel... the fact that you can register on race day is amazing.

Did I mention the post race all you can drink free beer???

I am doing the full marathon and last year did the half. I have done the 10k many, many times and have always had good experiences with the race, the post race activities and the support. I hear that the full course is much hillier than White Rock which is the only other marathon I have run. I have been training lots in the area where the course is being run, so hopefully the hills will be OK. Anyone else doing the full marathon?

I'm doing the half.  I'm treating it as a training run, so I'll run it at my IM pace.  Not trying to PR.  It's probably too hilly for a PR anyway.  I ready.  It should be fun.

What Tommy said.  We are doing this as a training run but have been given the green light to go for it the last 5K

We're in for the marathon. I decided to do the full and run it with Shannon to get her to the finish line. Going to take a picture of her every mile marker. Haven't decided yet on whether or not I will carry a megaphone with me. If you hear the following, it's me...

"26.1 miles to go!"

"26 miles to go!"

"25.9 miles to go!"

I'm in for the half as well! After last weekend's not so great asthma-riddled performance at the Texas Half, my coach has given me the okay for a shot at redemption. The hills will be a good training run and practice for Buffalo Springs! Tongue out

I'm coming in but not till later on Friday, with the family.  Is there a meeting place on race morning or post race?  I think we plan on staying till Sunday if anyone is up for a 3.5 hour ride on Sunday.  My brother lives near TCU, so the Radio Shack route sounds good.

Mike, Marcy and I have a 5hr/1hr brick on Sunday.....yeah its sounds fun to us too, after a 1/2marathon....We will be riding on the Trinity trails, and we do leave from Radio Shack.  We are a decent amount slower than you, but we'll be out there.
