The training is going well, I've been averaging around 10hours/week and hopefully I will be able to keep it up.
My weight is slowly coming down, currently I have lost 5lbs since the new year and want to lose an additional 20lbs come race day. Goal race weight of 170lbs.
Any advice for my first Ironman?

Hey, good for you, keep up the hard work. Should start to get easier to get outside as the weather gets better.

No tips here because I've never done the IM distance...yet!!

Hey Clfiton,

My biggest piece of advise would be to take it out slow on the bike.  It's so easy to get sucked in to riding hard all the way down to Osoyoos.  If that happens you might end up paying the price later in the day.  For the first 60km, just relax and take in your nutrition as planned.  Once over Richter you can then think about turning up the effort a notch or two.

See you on course.

Good luck to you Trevor, I'll steal that advise as well Saw your wife in CDA, managed to catch her bike in T2 and then saw her again later on at the finish, you two are really tearing up the scene! Good luck at Canada, give them hell!

Numbers due to be assigned this coming Monday. The 2008 Athlete's Information Guide and the schedule for the race week are both available on the IMC website now. Aaron has an IMC thread pinned in the Iron Distance forum. Good luck everyone! Have fun!
