Winds are low right now, should be up to 10-20mph this afternoon, temps reaching 90. It's in the 70's right now.

Just checked weather.com... Whew! Hot one!

They've been saying all week that it will be around 93 today. That's hot for a race but training this summer is gonna suck when it's 123 outside

Looks like there'll be a battle for the leader of the women coming out of the water and going into the bike.

Macel leads the women

RACETIME: 00:58

We should have predicted this -- TEREZA MACEL (#64) was first out of the water.

Close behind her were:
* HILLARY BISCAY (#44) at 0:03
* MICHELLIE JONES (#45) at 0:08
* HEATHER GOLLNICK (#41) at 0:36

Jacob (Tribullbutter) is out of the water at 1:02:43

Still running through the rest of the list to see who else might be heading for the bike.

I have to say that the video feed is awesome, and by awesome I mean I enjoy the static and occasional person talking in the background.

RENE GOEHLER (#28) is flying. He's already pulling clear of James Bonney.

Here are the splits at 8 miles.
* JAMES BONNEY (#4) at 1:10
* TJ TOLLAKSON (#33) at 1:45
* JONATHAN CARON (#3) at 2:35

Jones surges out ahead

RACETIME: 01:23

Michellie Jones is flying through the early stages of the bike. Paula Newby-Fraser thinks this is a great strategy - getting to the turnaround well ahead will make a big difference since they'll be facing a headwind on the way back.

Here are the splits for the first five women. Note Tara Norton has quickly moved up to the top five.

Currently leading the women is MICHELLIE JONES (#45). Right behind her, however, are:
* HILLARY BISCAY (#44) at 1:24
* TEREZA MACEL (#64) at 1:35
* HEATHER GOLLNICK (#41) at 1:55
* TARA NORTON (#47) at 6:27

I see Aaron wanted an hour swim and is at 1:06, hopefully that is all part of the plan.

Long day ahead to get back on track.

Michellie Jones is looking great. I think she has a ton to prove this year to show she is not "over the hill" in terms of her  career
