So, Leticia -- you won't be able to do the Sherox?

I can do SheROX on Aug 3rd, but not the cgi racing women's tri on July 13th.

The ones they have in 51 are I believe the Varese and the Sizzano, but on ebay they have a 51 narni for $100 than what javelin was asking (they're sold out now). I'm going to see if I can get into a LBS tomorrow for measurements....

Leticia-

Definitely we will get together for SheRox. I had totally A.D.D. at Gretna. There was a lot of people i know and friends and family around plus the transition area was tight. I most likely will be going by myself so i won't have any distrations. It should be a cool race.

jsnowash - 2008-06-24 2:55 AM I just checked the IM CDA results... A friend of my brother's was racing there this year. He had a GREAT race - sub 12:00, with a sub-4:00 marathon! Holy cow! I would love to be able to run a sub-4:00 marathon fresh! Can you imagine racing for 12 (or for many people, more) hours? Those IM people are amazing.... maybe someday....

I was watching the live video feed from CDIM and got tears in my eyes watching them cross the finish line. It is really AMAZING. There are all shapes/sizes/ages. You could do that, Jenny. That is, if you want to. Hope your back is feeling better.

All this bike talk -- I'm getting itchy for a tri bike now.

I ordered my bike!!!

http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/nemesis06_SPECIALpre.htm

I stopped at a bike store and they did all my measurements (but didn't print them out for me), but actually had tri bikes in stock and I got to do a test ride. They fitted me a on a 54, because I have long legs, but a shorter torso, so I'll need to make sure my aerobars are shortened so they fit. But at the bike store they thought that if I got a 52 my seat would be up way too high.

I'm excited! Hopefully should be here next week so I can have it ready to ride for next Saturday's long bike!!!

Shelley - GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND!!!

Erin - YAY! Congrats on the bike! May you have many happy miles together!

I'm so excited! Our summer swim club added a Master's swim program this year! I went to my first workout last night. It was nice to have other folks to swim with, and to have a good structured swim workout that I didn't have to think about - I could just follow what the coach had layed out. They'll be meeting 2x/week. I think these will be my main swim workouts over the summer. Last nights was 3000 yards. If I do that 2x/week, that should be pretty good!

that's great jen! Have fun with it. I woul love to find something like that but the only local masters programs is pretty rigorous and swims EVERYDAY at 530am to 7am and that doesn't work for me right now because i need to be at work at 7am and the pool is 20 mins away. Plus that is a bit much for me

Yeah, that sounds pretty hard core... this is actually a nice, low key group. Perfect for me... The coach basically has the workout layed out, and folks just work through it on their own, feeling free to modify or skip sections as they need to. Most of us are just average joe swimmers, just looking to get in a good swim workout and maybe improve our speed, technique, or endurance a little bit along the way.

That is terrific! I think swimming with the master's class has really improved my swimming a lot. When I work out by myself, I can let myself slack, but with the team you are pushing yourself for the entire workout. Congratulations!

Also congrats to Erin on the bike. It looks like a great deal with some good looking components! My first 10-speed was a bright orange Motobecane Nomad...way back in 1975. haha.

does anyone know anything about the half iron lite by piranha sports called Brierman in greenbrier state park on oct. 12? I cannot find any race reports anywhere and no chatter on here about it. I think it would be a good last race of the season and would push my distance up for next season. Not sure what the water temp would be though

I don't know anything about that particular race. I think it may be a new event this year. My general experience with Piranha events (and I've seen similar comments from many others in the BT community) is that they're pretty middle of the road in terms of organization, post race activities, etc. Not horrible, but not nothing all that special, either. That shouldn't be a reason not to do a race, though.... I've actually got Piranha's Patriot's half-iron lite on the radar as a possible August race, myself.

I'd like to see a picture of the new bike and hear how you feel when riding it. I just have a regular touring bike.

Ladies, I'm off to vacation this week out in Long Island. Should get some great small hill cycling, open water swimming in, plus plenty of beach time with the kids.

Hope you have fun! Margot

Enjoy your vacation, Margot!!

I did a bunch of yardwork over the weekend. Lost of hedge trimming, hefting bags of mulch etc. Probably not a good idea.... My back was feeling better, but I think the lifting, etc. set me back a bit. I did get 2 pretty decent bike rides in over the weekend. I haven't tried to run again yet, but will likely give it a go today. I may have to take up aqua jogging if I feel like I can't run yet!

Hey group,

Sorry for my absence this week. I've spent most of this week in the hospital with a relative (and his family) who took a sudden turn for the worse on Monday. He's doing a little better at the moment, but his condition is still pretty tenuous. I'm accessing the internet at the hospital right now. I'll probably be back home tomorrow. Please send positve thoughts and recovery vibes... he can use all he can get right now.

Hi group...

I'm back home now, but will likely be heading back to support my family later this week. I'll probably spend the weekend, which means I won't be racing at the Philly Women's tri on Sunday, so you guys have a great race, and a fun time! It's a fun event - you'll enjoy it!

I probably won't be posting much for a while... Good luck to everyone with upcoming races!
