Sure, his freestyle could be half a second faster if he was a freestyle specialist, but his butterfly and medley seem to be maxed out - maxed out in the way that he's so fast already it seems impossible for him to destroy the competition any more.
Not saying this translates to jumping on and off a bike, but it could be so - especially when the pro trains 25-30hrs/week, which means 15 hours of aerobic and 15 hours of specific training (I did 15 hours of competitive swimming when I was a kid ). |
