Age Group Rank = 1/1
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:30 a.m. Got dressed. (Packed my bag the night before, because I have OCD!) Ate 1/2 raisin bagel w/ cream cheese and OJ. Left for race at 6 AM. Got there at 6:25. Drank some water, jogged for a minute to get warmed up. Posed for pictures with Barry. ;)
Run
  • 14m 2s
  • 1.65 miles
  • 08m 31s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I was really happy with my pace! Wasn't too tired for the bike segment. Oh, get elastic laces!
Transition 1
  • 01m 25s
Comments:

Was a little nervous about getting my feet clipped into the pedals, since this was my first race where I used them. But everything went just fine!
What would you do differently?:

Have my hair tied in a lower ponytail so I don't have to "redo" my hair to fit under the helmet!
Bike
  • 37m 24s
  • 11 miles
  • 17.65 mile/hr
Comments:

Reminded myself to keep drinking so I wouldn't die on the run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Learn how to do turns better.
Transition 2
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

Everything went great here. Wished I had those elastic laces so I didn't have to waste time tying them. Grabbed a swig of Gatorade (GO GATORS!) and then I was off.
Run
  • 14m 23s
  • 1.65 miles
  • 08m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

Man, this seemed like forever. The whole time I kept thinking. At St. Anthony's I'm gonna have to run 5 more miles on top of this!!! Geez. Anyways, I actually passed people on the run- which I've never done before. I felt really strong thru the whole thing and really kicked it up the last .50 miles. Was really happy with my performance.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank gatorade, walked around.

Event comments:

Great experience. I recommend to any other people in this area. Looking forward to doing another du! It was nice not getting all wet- not having to swim. And it made me really excited for tri season to start up!

Great job.  Sounds like you're really getting yourself ready for the season.  I've never done a race in CB Smith park.  Too far south.  I'll see you in Tradewinds maybe!

Way to go girl! You ran, you biked, you passed people! Oh, and packing your bag the night before isn't OCD, it's being smart enough to know that you be thinking about other, more important things the morning of the race. Congratulations. Here's something to try... Put your shoes in the bike. Put one of the cranks in the down position. Lean the bike to the side and check out how much clearance you actually have (it's more than you think). Better to see it this way than to catch your pedal by accident

Great Race Lisa!!

You did fantastic!! Awesome pace on the run!! I'm with you, think I will purchase some quick laces, really supposed to help! I had to laugh at you talking about turning the bike. I had only been on my new bike 3x before my first and only tri. The bike course was out and back with a u-turn on a narrow country road. I laughed as I went into the grass!! BUT didn't fall!

AGAIN, congrats on a great race! Your run pace was very fast, and your bike was too!! You will so tear-up St.Anthony's!!

Congratulations on your race.

I love the organizers (multirace.com). Rob and the crew put together the first race I ever competed in (mountain biking); it's good to see how they've grown in such short time. They also organize a sprint triathlon series and the Miami Man 1/2IM (which I would like to do if I survive my IM).

I'm glad you enjoyed your race.
