  • 01m 56s / 100 meters
Comments:

well i gotta say i was totally surprised about the swim. it was not nearly as bad as i was expecting. i jumped right in there and mixed it up but it was relativly calm. i swam nice and steady the whole way and when i was finished i relized i had the swim of my life. i was very happy.
What would you do differently?:

nothing!
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

the volunteers are amazing god bless them all! the wetsuit strippers to the lotioneers. it was fantastic. however i was so excited about the great swim i ended up taking my sweet ass time through transition in a daze.
What would you do differently?:

get down to buisness in transitions and get out faster.
Bike
  • 6h 02m 44s
  • 180.25 kms
  • 29.82 km/hr
Comments:

i was biking great i felt rested and ready to go. i was passing everyone on all the climbs and felt i was holding alot back cuz i was thinking about the run. my biggest problem was during my training i was planning on a hot day so i planned on my fluid ond electrolite repletishment. but since it wasent that hot out and i didnt change my gameplan i had to stop at every aid station for a pee. according to my bike computer this added 17 min to my bike time total. :( oh well i learned something for next time.
What would you do differently?:

adjust for the conditions to limit stops at stations. push harder on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

another long transition. was just taking a while to get it together. cant explain it. plus started chatting with people in the tent.
What would you do differently?:

move it!
Run
  • 3h 44m 35s
  • 42.16 kms
  • 05m 20s  min/km
Comments:

had a good run. didint push it talked to a lot of people. met up with some fellow bters. it was a good time. still cant believe i ran my first marathon. i think i would like to do one without the swim and bike before it.
What would you do differently?:

it depends on the goal. i could of ran quiker but i figured why bother. and the last few days i am glad i didint.
Post race
Warm down:

pizza. and cookies and fruit and then a massage! that was nice.

Event comments:

will do another ironman in my lifetime just not sure when. everything went pretty well. i am home now after driving 16 hours straight through. and really i dont have too many body issues. it appears i am going to lose a toenail though. but they grow back right. now its time for the tattoo!! it was really good to see people i know get through the race it was more enjoyable for me to see that then my own finish. is that weird? so long bt. i think i am packing it in for a while. thanks for everything!

Good work there. I feel your pain about the gameplan thing. Last year at Morden, I must have stopped five times!

Well done Ironman!
