However at 21 miles....the worst cramp pains I ever had took over for the next three miles. It was not pretty, but I finished my first marathon in 3:40 ish. Oh well a finish is a finish! |

That's a great finish for your first time out and not knowing exactly what racing at this distance is like or how that last six miles will feel. Maybe you finished right near me. I came in 3:40 ish too. |

I didn't run, but I got to be one of the 3 lead bikers for the full and it was really awesome to see the event from that perspective. It was especially amazing to get to watch the leaders running so strong and smooth, even after 26 miles! As a new runner, it was really inspirational! |

I walk as if I am walking straight legged which is making my knees hurt instead of just my quads burning and going downhills is causing a bit of a problem. |

For my first marathon I didn't walk right for three days afterwards (so you're about on track ). After that I still felt some residual soreness for a couple more days, but I could at least walk normal. Stairs are the most fun in the couple days afterwards. Go down backwards if you need to.
