mr2tony - 2009-03-26 11:07 AM We need to start formulating a plan for Sunday. As in `WHERE THE F ARE WE MEETING!?' I vote we just straggle over to Bar L one at a time. Meeting up after that race is such a pain! Oh and I'll be working the Team in Training booth at the expo from 2-6p on Saturday, so come over and say hi. I'll be the short dorky looking dude with the brown hair and the eyes and nose and mouth and such.

Agreed.  Bar Louie.

So what time are you shooting for in the race?

Can I be a stupid suburbanite and ask which Bar Louie?  Is it the one on Chicago?

Also, if the race starts at 9:30, will it be open by the time we finish?

SKDickey - 2009-03-26 2:37 PM Also, weather.com is saying 43 and sunny-ish: http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/60606?from=36hr_fcst10DayLink_undeclared

After some snow overnight.

Welp ... lessee ... maybe a 37 or 38 or so. Whatever -- I just don't wanna hurt myself before IMNO in a week.

Bar Louie is on Polk and Dearborn in the old Dearborn Station.

Just walk west to State then to Polk (south of the Van Buren el tracks) and west to Dearborn. It has a big clock tower that says `Dearborn Station' on it. Hard to miss.

Great. I may have to go to Fargo to cover the floods. Just frickin' great. I find out tomorrow if I'm going or not. Just what I want, to go to Fargo, miss the race and get all jet-lagged and stiff the week before an HIM.

After my LTHR two days ago, I'll be exstatic if I go sup 40:00.

I hope you don't have to go to Fargo.  That would be teh suxxor.

Definitely fun.  I can't believe there were only 13,000 people there!  A bunch of wussies stayed home I guess.

This wussie stayed home...being that I am still coughing up chunks, sorry to be grosse, I thought it best to bag this one.  Getting over the flu, and I just don't want to be sick for the next however many days.  I've got triathlon training to do afterall!!

Good job to those who braved the elements!

I loved the conditions.  I did miss my goal time by 20 seconds which I blame on the extra water weight in my shoes

The waiting was the worst part - once I got running I felt fine! lol

I think if people didn't even show up for the shuffle this morning (with the exception of the infirm), they should have to send back the shirt.

I am slow but given the conditions I think I did pretty well (for me)... 57 mins

We weren't about to drive all the way to Chicago in that unplowed crap!!! The race itself would have been fun, but the drive all the way there and all the way back for a 5 mile race wouldn't have been worth it. Undecided

Looks like you guys had fun, though. (!!!

I guess... the drive in SUCKED. Maybe we should have gotten medals for showing up!

Did you all meet at Bar Louie after?  I was cold and miserable so I bailed after the race.  I needed a hot shower and dry clothes more than anything!

Sorry I bailed yesterday.  My dumb azz forgot to pack a dry pair of sock and shoes for after the race.

Talk about a slush fest.
