start hard, but not overkill, if this is anything over about 8 miles if it hurts in the first two min you probably started too hard. i take the first two min to slowly get into pace, then do whatever it takes to keep the speed up, some courses this requires a lower cadence/bigger gear, sometimes spinning, sometimes both.
there is no run after so you should be hurting part way through and dying near the end.
is this is shorter than a 40k, something like 8-18 miles, then its gonna suck mosto f the way. |
