Run
Comments: Started with Dud and we ended up running with my friend Jeremy for a lot of it. It was a bit chilly, but I'm glad I wore shorts. Even with the wind it got warm after a while. Holy crap, this is a hilly course. Long stretches next to fields too, so the wind gets going pretty good. It's lots of fun, but it's no place for someone who doesn't like hills or wind. A training run with Dud up until mile 12 or so, then I hit the gas with Jeremy. We paced each other, including up the last couple of hills from mile 12 to 13. OMG those hurt. Just brutal. At the 13 mile mark we started racing. I had him up until the last 20 yards or so, then he got JUST in front of me and I couldn't pull up. We were close enough that if it was chip timed I would have thrown my leg out. The last .1 mile was a 6'07" avg pace with a max of 4'21". The finish line was a volunteer with their arm out. I love small races. What would you do differently?: Nada. Fun race. I'll have to come back next year and see what I can really do on it. Post race
Warm down: Sat on a bumper and tried not to die from the sprint at the end. Event comments: It's a memorial race for someone who was very active in the Rochester running scene. Obviously something special for those putting it on. Gotta love the small, no-production races like this that are done just for the love of the sport. Last updated: 2009-04-04 12:00 AM

Ate a banana, had a coffee. Thought about a design issue with integrating the inplace and rich text editors.
Drove to the race, registered.
Gotta love a race where registration is a card table on the side of the road.
Sat in the van with Dud with the heater on.
