I doubt that a double century is a regular event so you can't really expect him to maintain that pace. My own commitment might be considered less of a challenge for me than what some here have taken on, but I hope to concentrate more on my running through the rest of April so there will be less time and energy left over for biking. He may have other stuff to do besides biking too. I hate to disagree with the bear, but give the guy a break.

I want to join, and try to get to 150 Miles for the month.  I have had two rides this month so far, and one doesn't count as it was at the gym on the stationary bike.  The other ride was on Sunday of 9.41 miles.  I don't know if I will make 150 miles, but I am going to try.

Ok Bear and Kim,

If my butt isn't absolutely killing me when I get back on the bike on Thursday I will up my pledge to 200 miles. I'm going to be short a weekend since I am going backpacking so 200 is the most I will be able to knock out. Besides those 150 (or 200) miles will contain considerably more hills than my normal miles so believe me it will be a challenge.

Mike

P.S. Thanks for the support Kim and Micawber.

Put me down for 600 miles. I am at 200 so far this month. And yes we had 3 days of snow since Sunday. My goal for April is 800 and for May it's 1,000 miles. I may not hit my goals, but I'll give it my best shot!

Not at all! Can I still get in? I haven't ridden since Friday. I saw it was closed last night AFTER I posted. I am in a slump this week and thought this might get me out of it. Let me know. We all need something to motivate us at times

Thanks Mr Bear.

Ooooooooooh Kay, we'll let you play, just promise you'll show up on time the next go 'round.

Now I'm going to have to create a whole 'nother SuperStud category.

We'll give you credit for all the miles, you just have to set your goal twice as high, at least 300 miles or maybe the 600 that Mike Ricci's shooting for.

Scratch that. Since you're doing a mix, just count half your tandem miles. Or count it all, we don't care. This isn't the USAT, or rocket science, just set a goal that you think will be a challenge and record your activity appropriately.

I`m trying to supress the tears of being listed below the person WITHOUT A BIKE (even though I was the second person to sign up for the challenge), but it gives me even more motivation.

Good luck to everyone, see some of you on the SOTM sig.!

vonholt - 2005-04-14 11:15 AM Or is that a save the best for last kinda thing?

No, it's a division of those with "alternative goals" rather than straight miles. Helped me to seperate them so that I could total the mileage of those others with less creative goals. If it helps, I'll move you ahead of will.

That`s OK, I don`t want him to develop the same, deep emotional scaring that I`ve had to endure the past 37 min.
