Sunny
Total Time = 3h 48m 9s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = Clyde
Age Group Rank = 34/37
Pre-race routine:

Chicken broth for Breakfast as it was supposed to be a hot one.
Event warmup:

None - just chillin' with the ESCKTC members.
Swim
  • 47m 46s
  • 1500 meters
  • 03m 11s / 100 meters
Comments:

First race ever where I did not have the adult floaty of my suit. I was pleased that even if the swim was slower, that i had no trouble.
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps I should have trained and not gotten so large.
Transition 1
  • 01m 28s
Comments:

Spent too much time putting on bike gloves.
What would you do differently?:

Wish all the cutt grass was not on my feet for this transition, my bike shoe inserts must have had a fold in them as I felt the shoes for the first loop.
Bike
  • 1h 28m 5s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 16.93 mile/hr
Comments:

Spent too much time getting up the short hills with my extra weight.
What would you do differently?:

Need some time in the saddle before I race again.
Transition 2
  • 02m 48s
Comments:

Spent too much time getting socks on my feet and just becoming aware of the outside temps.
What would you do differently?:

Would be nice to run without socks, but I ma not to theat level at this time.
Run
  • 1h 26m 58s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 14m  min/mile
Comments:

I have not trained so I was not acclimated to a 100 degree run yet. Just no mojo to do anything but finish so walked about 5 of the miles.
What would you do differently?:

Train and lose the extra poundage.
Post race
Warm down:

Racking up gear.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight, motivation, lack of training, heat.

Event comments:

Most issues with this race are self imposed. I chose to do little to no training and eat way to much since Ironman of 2008.

It was good to see you out there Jerry, hope you had some fun even undertrained. Getting your first no wetsuit race done is huge, and you did great!
