When your 3-month-old Forerunner 305 pops out of the quick release bracket while you're doing 25mph and breaks apart, and the company rep tells you, yeah, we'll cover that under warranty, send it to us and we'll send a replacement. No charge, no problem.

Thanks Garmin!

Garmin is an incredible company based on my experiences. My dad had a 205 with a crazy quiet beep feature (seriously, it was barely audible) and they sent him a brand new 305 as a replacement.

They know how to keep their consumers happy!

Ironically I was just talking to a friends about how Garmin has, bar none, the best customer service I have ever run across with a company.  This is what prompted me to recommend the Garmin Forerunner to him ... and is a major differentiator from the other GPS enabled HR monitor options.  He is now going to purchase one (From Costco for the ridiculously cheap price of $149) and use it for his training.

I have had similar conversations that resulted in purchases by an additional 4 friends who were entering into the sport.

I say all that to demonstrate that good customer service does not only keep existing customers happy but also works to expand their sales ... and how happy I am that Garmin realizes this.

When you've been checking your mail for the Aevero gear you're expecting, and instead you get an email:

"We are deeply sorry for having to send this message!
Your package was just returned to us from the US Postal Service... because it suffered some damage while in transit :-(  The US Postal Service is still honoring the postage and your confirmation number.  We will reship your package (with new items of course) first-thing Friday Morning.
We are also including a FREE Running Hat to compensate you for the extra few days you've had to wait to receive your Aevero Gear!"

Thanks Aevero - for the communication and the free gear...

I wanted to respond in this thread to say that I got my gear today as advertised - including the free hat.  I'm a happy Aevero customer.  Sorry for the hijack...

i didn't want to plop down for a 205 or a 305 etc.  little out of my price range.

ended up with 50 with footpod and hr monitor strap for $65, its an amazing watch.  i never had any HRM but its been really awsome so far.

Awesome Customer Service:

I lost my Road ID while doing a sprint tri in fairhope. I wore it during the swim.  I called them up and they told me they could cancel the one I had and would send me a new one... Free!  =-) Sweet! Thanks Road ID.
