I will be running MCM this year.  A friend hurt his knee and transferred his entry to me.

My Marine was home for the weekend with a couple brother Marines.  They will be my motivating thoughts during the MCM.

My thought exactly!  I feel kind of bad about being excited because someone got hurt for this to happen.

I'm deploying so I'm out. Probably won't be back in time for next year, so I have to try to defer until 2011.

Didn't get one because they have my old e-mail in their system and I couldn't find a way to change it.  Need to e-mail them and see about it ....

Bummer Comet.  Stay safe and smart and make it back home in one piece.

Edit: Had the original e-mail from when I registered and it had the confirmation number which I was able to put on the site and print out my e-card thingy.  And I sent them an e-mail to fix my address.  So I'm good to go.

Hope everyone is doing well with the training. I am taking a short break and resting a sore back. I was hoping to run 16-17 this past weekend but did 0. Oh well hopefully next weekend I will get my long run in, guess it is better to rest the OLD back than really hurt it and not make it to the starting line.

Thinking about doing the 10K, been doing 8 mile runs at least 3 times a week after the Culpeper Sprint... presently signed up for nothing but itching to do something.

Let me know if you find a way to get a spot.  It's currently sold out.  I really wanted to run the 10K so right now I'm looking for bib transfers.

It is closed... hadn't even checked that yet.  Looks like people are selling bibs on Craigslist.

I'm most likely out since buying someone elses bib might get messy.

My training was going really well and I was so excited to do this race...then last weekend I caught the swine flu while volunteering at a college campus. I've already lost a week of training and I'm not sure I'll be back to running until Sunday or Monday at earliest I'm not sure I'll be able to pull off the marathon.

I'm going to give it a go!  I've got several people I could do a bib transfer with so I'm gonna go that route.

This will be my first marathon.  I figured with all the training I've been doing this year why the heck not?  STOKED!

I did 16mi on the W&OD last Saturday. First 14 were fine, but I hit the wall after that.  Doing 20 Saturday so I'll see how it goes :-)

I'm in for the race and look forward to seeing some BTers down there!! I have no time expectations but plan on running a very consistent pace and hopefully even splitting or slightly negative splitting. I'll probably be in the 3:40-3:50 range if someone needs a pacer or running partner.

Rick, save some beer and pizza at the end please!!!

Hopefully this weekend is my last long run, lol those things get boring after awhile, 22 miler this weekend.

Anyone else doing the Army 10 miler next week?

I'm doing 22 this weekend, but it will be broken up in 3 legs of a relay.  I have not run more than 10 or so in a long time.  Not expecting any great things.  May even just pace Traci but it will depend on how Baltimore goes.

So don't worry about the beer and pizza Bob.  There should be plenty as you will probably still beat me.

I'm finally back to running after being dead to the world for a week and a half! 5 slow miles went pretty well today. Hoping to get in 15 this weekend instead of the originally scheduled 20, run the Army Ten Miler the following weekend, and then run 20 the weekend after and start my taper.

After slacking on my long runs for a month, I did 20 on Sunday and was reminded how grueling it's gonna be. Hoping for under 4:00 at a steady, even pace. Feeling Sunday in my legs as I type...

Looks like I am deferring until next year (glad they moved the deferment deadline!).  I'm having gall bladder surgery sometime in the next two weeks and won't be able to run after that for 4 - 6 weeks.  No fall marathons for me this year.

I did my longest run ever yesterday - 23 miles - my body is still in shock :P  No new record runs now until race day . . .

I can't believe the 14 on my schedule for next weekend is sounding short!   And then just 8 the following weekend . . . then race day - EEEEKKKK!!

Happy Training All!

^^ I also did my longest run, 22 miler, on Saturday and I was hurtin' for certain the day after!  Finally felt what it was like to hit the wall as I tried to climb a steep hill on the last 1/4m (trying to replicate the climb into the finish).  Felt like I was running in concret boots!

Luckily I felt good on Monday and was able to thrash around in the pool to loosen everything up.

I can't really see why people are always complaining about the taper and how they are going crazy and NEED to run.  My tired butt is really looking forward to cutting the miles back this weekend!  WooHoo!
