Mike, awesome race.  I have no idea what its like to deal with diabetes.  It is amazing that you have trained and finished a triathlon, made even more incredible given the obstacles.  Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your accomplishment.  It was fantastic to meet you, Wendi, and your kids.  You have a great family.

Great race Mike.  You certainly have a lot more to overcome than the rest of us with your diabetes.  Just get a little more training in and you will kick butt with the running gene that I know you have. Take care -SMO

Iron Mike - you kick ass.  Way to cross the line - I didn't know that you started 6 months ago.  That's a huge accomplishment man.  I can't wait to race with you again and I look forward to all your future race reports!    We had such a good time with you and Wendi too.  At least you know there's another kindred spirit out there that has to deal with food touching, and all that other weird Wendi/Denise twin stuff.  LOL!  I really look foward to meeting up again.  Had a great time.  Congrats again!

Mike-

We did it!!! I'm so proud of all of us. And, we had a fun time doing it! I'm glad I got to see you on the run...although I was so tired, I felt like I was hallucinating. At least we know what we need to work on for the next race. I'm sure I'll see you and Wendi at another tri this year. Congrats again!

I got the *shivers* reading about the national anthem being played!!  Wow.  I'm pumped!

Glad you enjoyed the race, Mike!  You are right...to attempt an oly after only six months... crazy talk! *laughs*

I didn't do my first oly until my THIRD season.

Keep on plugging away!  The amount you train will dictate your improvement, and with your running background, the sky is the limit!

Great job.  As I was reading about you forgetting your pump, I thought you meant a bike pump.  I was expecting to read that you had a flat, and had to beg for a pump.  Then I as continued reading I realized what you were talking about.  That is quite an accomplishment to do a race like that, and having to deal with the nutrition challenges of a diabetic.

Once again, congratulations.
