mcgilmartin - 2009-09-15 12:25 PM Forecast for Saturday is 74 degrees with scattered thunderstorms. I don't usually pray, but I am this week for good weather. First half, been training since January and I would be devastated if this thing got cancelled.

Accuweather.com says high of 83, sun and some clouds. Sounds good - actually fantastic - to me!

OK we can bring down a canopy for our jockstrappers if people will use it. WILL PEOPLE USE IT???

If not I'm not going to ask TriOK to bring it with her (she now lives in Denver and it's a long drive with limited space).

If people will use it, then she said she'll bring it. If not, then she won't. It's going to be warm and there's little shade out there so it'd be nice to have, but again I'm not going to ask her to drive that sucka all the way down if it's going to sit unused.

Yes? No? Maybe?

Hi All!  Best of Luck!

I'll be the volunteer in long brown pants (and if it's sunny a brown straw sun hat) doing bottle hand-ups at Bike Aid Station 3.   Yell "BT" as you go by if you want to hear how hawt you look.

Or find me with TexasMPGal and a handsome white-and-black dog at the awards ceremony.

PS - yes, I'm a bike volunteer now, not a run volunteer... but I'm still hoping to pass some tootsie rolls to one of the run aid stations...

Great race out there yesterday. Surprised myself in keeping a good attitude with the delays and mandatory dismount.

oh wow, how did I not see this thread until today?!?

Congrats to everyone who raced yesterday! I'm sorry I didn't get to meet everybody, but it was great to see those of you I already knew! So how did y'all like that weather? I actually enjoyed the swim and even the bike in the rain.... but the whole running through a billion puddles got kind of old.... my shoes are still soaked!

Anyway, congrats again to everybody! And thank you VERY MUCH to those who volunteered!!! I have to say this was one of the most well-supported races I've ever done. I really enjoyed it. Thanks!

Yeah, before it's too late I need to pass along the kudos to the race staff, volunteers, and fellow athletes. Despite the lousy weather I had one of the best days of my life. Behind my wedding day, my kids being born, this would rank #3. Now if I could just not be so sore!

Anyone have course maps for this race?  I'm tinkering with the idea of doing this as a tune-up for Cozumel, but would like to glean a little more info first.

Remember that the bike route was changed, as you can see on the Full distance thread.
See you all there...
