Subject: RE: Why Did You Buy Your Tri Bike? When: 4 years after getting into tris, I was getting faster...and wanted to bump my speed. Why: Because of a combination of BT / ST advice that a tri-bike was necessary...which I found out later wasn't the case. You can go almost as fast on a roadie (which I had ) which is a great option for 99% of us that aren't competing for a podium. I got caught up in the material hype, peer pressure, and believing that frame aerodynamics / tri position were absolute musts for decent performance. Not. If I had to do it again, I'd buy a mid-level road bike. 99% of the benefit, versatility, and only one bike. |
