Total Time = 1h 53m 44s
Overall Rank = 931/1111
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 426/553
Pre-race routine:

The pre-race routine is still 'in progress'. I'm really bad at this because I can't get food down on race mornings. I did have a yummy dinner @ Cactus Joe's in Laconia the night before.
Event warmup:

No warm-up, didn't arrive early enough
Swim
  • 10m 43s
  • 581 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

stand in front and GO GO GO!!
Transition 1
  • 04m 32s
Comments:

Wetsuit Strippers Rock!
What would you do differently?:

this was a pretty slow t1 for me but that's what lack of training will do ;)
Bike
  • 1h 03m 38s
  • 15 miles
  • 14.14 mile/hr
Comments:

Damn I'm slow :(
i thought my time was better. I felt really good - i changed my bike fit a day before and it helped ALOT. The ride back is awesome because the gradual decline allowed me to get a big strong cadence to power down to the finish. Again - lack of training kept me in my slow pace but it was fun!!
Transition 2
  • 03m 16s
Comments:

again, slow T for me but i was happy to be off the bike!
Run
  • 31m 46s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

This was my biggest surprise; the lack of training didn't have an effect on my run - i kept a good pace, took my 2 walk breaks and a sip of H20 @ mile 1 and 2 and i was fine :) came in smiling!
Post race
Warm down:

Found my peeps and went and had a huge lunch and blue moons back at Cactus Joe's :)

Event comments:

Endorfun does an amazing job - for the size it couldn't be better!!
I'm scared to death to move up to the 1/2 IM but it's certainly one i'd concider because it's such a well organized and beautiful race.

I couldn't be happier with this~ I have to really work on getting out in front at the start because i wanted to go faster so many times but couldn't get around people. The breast strokers killed me - swimming sub-2 min/100 makes me so happy!

Great job.  I had the same issue on the swim, too many people in the way.  It was good bumping into you after the race.  Good luck if you step up to he HIM, I know I'm not even close to doing that.

Hey Lady,

Timber sprint must've been good fun -- great pace on the swim, and don't worry...your bike will speed up as time in the saddle makes all the diff.

Glad you had a great run to top it off!  My run fell apart on the Timber half on Sunday...miserable, but I finished.   You'll see a RR on it later if you look for it.

Just FYI, Mystic's beach is closed due to sicky bacteria and some recent illnesses.  No one among the Marauders got sick, but the "no swimming" signs are up and we're going to Bike/Run instead until they are removed.

Cheers, -Sunny

Great race Lisa..I totally get you with the breast strokers..ugh its really hard to get kicked and hit as you try and pass them. Seriously if I were a breast stroker..I'd be sitting at the back of the pack last in the water. Some people just don't get it!!

As long as your picking HIMs I think you should make everyone happy and do two!! RI and Patriot or heck how about one a month and do Timberman because out of the three Id have to say its the best run race event!!

(not that it should make a lick of difference in your choice, but Im definately doing Patriot and  maybe Timberman for revenge if I don't do a full IM in the fall.)

Congrats Lisa!  It took me a second to realize it was you who was yelling my name at the run turnaround.  Sorry if I didn't acknowledge you.  I was a little beat up at the time!
