Elite 4564 Boise | Subject: RE: College Football Starts TONIGHT! Should be at least 19-0. Those first two drives in the red zone were atrocious. The Defense has really stepped up and not allowed a first down. BSU leads the time of possession 24:10-5:50. |

I'm hoping the Tide destroys the ever living poop out of the Hokies. Man I hate those friggin' jacklegs. Hokie fans are the most annoying fans ever. So you're saying you're on the fence with this one? |

I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Who would've thought that he LITERALLY meant "we owe this team an A$$ whopping"? Going after fans after the punch, and with the commisioner of the Pac 10 at the game tonight, this has got to be several games suspension. Congrats to Boise State; some ugly football, but it's the first game of the season and no one will remember the second half in December. Edited by d2lock 2009-09-04 1:31 AM |

Master 1585 Folsom (Sacramento), CA | Subject: RE: College Football Starts TONIGHT! There is something wrong with college football when all you hear all night is how if Boise wins this game they will be in the driver seat to be in a BCS game. Since when is playing absolutely NO ONE all year considered BCS worthy? After watching Oregon tonight, I will be shocked if they finish the season ranked. The WAC is down this year (and even in a good year is weak) and the rest of their non-conference schedule is pathetic. I actually would love to see them somehow get vaulted into the BCS championship and then get throttled by someone like 'SC or Florida. It will show how much of a joke the current system is. |

I was hoping to not see the whole overdone, beaten-to-death, and already over-analyzed-from-every-conceivable-point BCS vs. mid-major discussion in CoJ until at least, I dunno, not until at least the end of the first weekend. I don't get how even BSU fans can seriously say they "deserve" to be in consideration like the teams from the big conferences when all they've been saying is "If we can beat the #18 ranked team our FIRST game, we've got smooth sailing till the end of the year". My God, it was the first ranked team they've played at home, ever, in their entire existance. I've said it before and I'll say it again, even if BSU runs the table they do not deserve to go to a BCS game over a 1 or 2 loss team from one of the major conferences. |

Does it count as dominance if Oregon was just inept? 3 observations from this: 1) That's why you never take-off your helmet until you're in the locker-room or on the bus. 2) If you're going to talk-trash to someone, don't turn your back on them after you do it. 3) I'd like to commend the other players from BSU and Oregon for not jumping into the fray like the host of MLB teams have done this season, or like South Carolina/Clemson did a few years back. It was one stupid kid doing something and then the teams kept their cool about it. Bonus) Blount was backing-up after he hit the guy because he was surrounded by blue uniforms. Which begs the question, why was he walking through the sea of blue unless he knew he wanted to do that? I see suspension of at least 4 games coming. I've said it before and I'll say it again, even if BSU runs the table they do not deserve to go to a BCS game over a 1 or 2 loss team from one of the major conferences. Agree completely. I was watching the first quarter last night, and what I thought was really sad was how they were talking about how this "may be the biggest game ever" at Boise State. Really? A season opener against a (mostly likely overrated) team ranked in the teens? That's kinda pathetic. Sportsline was also hyping their recent success against "BCS teams" so I went and looked at their results. Since 2000, during the regular season they are 4-8 against BCS teams, with 2 wins coming from Oregon and Oregon state each. That's a BCS winning percentage of 33%, which is mildly better than that of Vanderbilt, who is 22% over the same time period. They are 0-4 against the SEC since 2000, with an average loss of 22 points. IF you count bowl games, they improve to 6-10 against BCS competition, with a winning percentage of 38%. Two of those bowl games were on their own hideous field (1-1). So, while I realize it's "early in the season", why should I remotely think this team should be a BCS contender? One impressive win over Oklahoma in 2006 does not make you a perennial powerhouse! |

Nice cheap shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elIyOMMLSjY OK I've watched all the reports on this and am, to say the least, amused by the whole thing. I'll give you the Cliff's Notes version: 1. Boise State beats Oregon in 2008. 2. Oregon's Blount says `We owe them an azz-whuppin' before tonight's game.' 3. Boise State delivers the `azz-whuppin' ... 4. Boise State Thug runs over after the game to talk smack about said `azz-whuppin'. 5. Oregon Thug sucker punches Boise State Thug, who hit's the ground like it's an air raid. 6. Oregon Thug starts fighting his own teammates who are attempting to restrain him. 7. Oregon Thug runs gets into a scrum with Boise State fans. 8. Oregon Coach Scott Frost, a former Nebraska quarterback and NFL safety, carries Oregon Thug off the field. Lesson. Don't try thuggin' when you're from Boise State because Oregon Thugs are tougher. And don't try thuggin' if you're from Oregon or a Nebraska QB will carry you off the field like you're his new bride. |

Remember this from a few years back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkbKjtuNJhQFunniest mascot fight ever. I love the little shimmy ... I do remember that. That's classic. The Duck got suspended for several weeks BY THE NCAA!!! Miami had the Ibis run onto the field and get an unsportsmanlike penalty last year and there was a radio guy who said "the coach should have the ibis out there on the field doing wind-sprints or hills or whatever they do for punishment." That would've been classic. |
