Subject: RE: Muskoka 70.3blev - 2009-09-15 5:13 PM This is my first post and I had 10 friends enter and all 10 finished. 8 of these it was there first half ironman. I have never done a tri but am thinking that if they can do it why not me. Does anyone have any other halfs near ontario that would maybe be a good first one for me. Thanks Blev - Muskoka is a tough course so it may take a while loger to train for it. Slightly easier races of the same distance are the Canadian Iron 113 in Ottawa (Somersault Triathlon series ) or the Demi-Esprit in Montreal. These are not 'Ironman' brand-name races, but they are asme distance, just as prestegious and cheaper. The Montreal race takes place in the olympic rowing basin (smooth water and always close to shore ) and the bike on the F1 car racing track (smooth and mostly flat ) I absolutely agree with you that you too can do a half-iron. Long distance triathlons are 10% physical - the rest is mental.... you just have to be mental enough.... |
