zionvier - 2010-03-05 12:02 PM When you're 14 miles into your run and you finally realize you were supposed to turn around at mile 8 because it was an out and back path, not a loop, you're on.

ouch

a little off topic, but you know you're tired BEFORE a workout when you slam your finger in the car door at 4 am on the way to your swim and don't even wince, cry, swear or flinch (you just tell yourself, "it figures..."). you try to pull it out and realize its stuck, dislodge it, go grab some ice and still head to the pool. I am a zombie during the week, I swear!

ha ha ha

Chalk it up to "it figures", I do that all the time.

These are great, and I am so happy NOT to be alone.

(this is on a greenway, so only one place to run out & back along the trail)

You are out for a run knowing there is a guy ahead of you that you are trying to catch. You are clicking along at 7:30/mile, and thinking there is no way this guy is out running you. Miles pass, you stop to cross the street, the dude comes up behind you, and you don't remember passing anyone.

You are on the trainer, deep in an evil grind, and on the verge of blacking out. Your thought process is "if I blackout, at least I can rest until I wake up", and it still takes you a few seconds to realize that is a bad idea.

you fell asleep twice trying to make it to the end of page 3 of this thread........

when you stop for an ice cream after your swim, and think if you sit down and let it melt, you can drink it thru a straw.

When you don't have the energy to search for a leaf to wipe with during your mountain biking, so you pull off your boxers and use those again.  Usually occurs if you eat Pizza Hut at the turnaround. FYI, the boxers are now labeled as disposable despite any info to the contrary.

You wear boxers mountain biking?

You know you are tired when you use the wrong half of the map to wipe. The half you need in order to get home.

You come back from a morning run and decide to snuggle with your five year old in his teeny bed for just five minutes before waking him for school. That's where your husband finds you an hour and a half later.

About mile 105 of the bike of your first IM.  You see an arrow painted on the ground.  It's indicating that you should turn right at the next street just ahead, but it's literally pointing into a driveway.  So you just think....'weird.  an arrow.  into a driveway...wonder what it's trying to tell me....' so you just keep riding straight, continuing to ponder the strange arrow.

When your legs are so tired you trip over the curb to your yard because you can't lift your legs, you fall in the grass and just lay there realizing how much more comfortable it is than the couch.

You come in from a long run and spouse hits you with 3 or 4 issues/items/whatevers. The next day she says, "Remember, we discussed this when you came in from running yesterday."

Absolutely no recollection whatsoever.
