I would love a copy as well, thanks for the link.  I rode the course last weekend and did a brick with the run route.  I would try to go early as traffic gets heavy of the day is nice.  A group of us are going to try to ride the course again this weekend.  I'll post date and time when I find out.  Anyone is welcome to tag along....or pace usSmile  I am doing it with a group of women from work.  For many of them it is their first triathlon and I am hoping for good weather and a great experience.  I would love to meet some fellow BTers.

Is it getting that close to the race all ready.  I think I still have your number so I'll give you a buzz closer to the time but I might have to come see you again before the race.  Minnetonka really encourages picking up packets the day before so might have to make a trip of it.  You been on the MOO course yet this year?

not to stay off topic but actually I think brock is from south dakota, he wrestled for the U but isn't technically from here.

We should at a min find a place to met up before or after the race.  preferably before as I don't think many of you will want to wait for us slow pokes to finish!
it would be nice to atleast say hi and put some faces with the names.

I sent an e-mail to the RD to volunteer, but if I don't hear from them I decided to come and watch for sure.  I'd like to do this race next year and the short bike ride from my house is perfect for the training plan

Is there a particular area that would be nice to have a spectator?   I don't mind parking it on the bike course somewhere, if there's a nasty hill or boring spot.  Let me know if you have any ideas...

I've never done this race b4, so not much help on planning a meeting spot or suggesting viewing spots.  I did ride the part of the bike course after it croses hwy 7 yesterday and it seems nice.  A couple of rollers and some smaller hills, but I could stay aero almost the the whole time.

Emily you can take the bike path from hopkins out to the lake (the lunds one) but you probably know that.  that path becomes the run course.
The swim starts at the beach and goes around the point and finished near the bandshelter, so to watch that you can sit on the hill by the softball field.
For the bike, if you do bike out there you could follow the bike route over 7 onto Mill st (Powers Blvd) and take a right on Lake Lucy RD. The bike turn around is pretty much right there and some of the bigger hills, you woudn't have to get to far from the transition area to get there, then you could bounce back in to watch the finish if you wanted.
There was pertty much nobody on the bike course cheering last year except volunteers.  There were a few people down by lake ann park on the frontage road.  There would be two way traffic at that part of the race, about miles 4 and 11ish...

Thanks Jared!  If the bike course is generally cheerless, I will try to be out there for a bit.  I know that helps a lot to have a random cheerer.

Sign a copy for me please!  Maybe we could meet before the race just in case things are crazy after.  I won''t be able to stick around very long as my daughter is playing in a softball tournament across town.  I will miss her morning game, but plan on being there for her 12:00 game.

Even if Brock is originally from SD, he now lives and trains in Alexandria, MN so he is indeed from Minnesota.

Looking forward to seeing people at the race on Saturday.  If you don't know me I'll be the only guy there wearing a jersy with a pig face on the front and back.  Divine Swine catering racing team.  Stop by and say hello.  I'm really looking forward to this race.  Back in 2006 this was my first race ever and I was hooked, have not been back to this one since so looking forward to the comparisons.

Yea I don't know what the heck is wrong with you people from Wisconsin.  I pulled out my XL TriDonkai jersey and it didn't even cover up the crater I call my belly button.  No way am I ready for that kind of coverage yet.  Besides, if I wear the swine we'll look like a little zoo.

I'm going to head up and pick up my packet around 3:30 and then see if I can't catch you at Ruby Tuesday before making the trek south through rush hour.

well it will be a little zoo with all my family coming out to watch, and I'm a little overweight like a pig, and people call me a jacka$$ some times so I think I'll fit right in with you guys!
I'll keep my eye out for the animals and say hi.
I have a super bright yellow specialized road bike, no fun jersey for me just blue.

I didn't race today but volunteered. I hope everyone had a safe and fun race. It was windy, no doubt (according to the NWS, winds were 12mph gusting to 20, and from a direction for that really affects that side of the lake) which certainly added to the challenge.

Great job to everyone who toughed out the windy swim course today. You should certainly be proud of yourself.

A DNS for me...

I got some bad news on Friday morning when I went in for an ultrasound to help diagnose some stomach discomfort I had been having for two weeks - appendicitis, so was in surgery Friday evening, home by Sat. night.  Surgery went as well as can be expected with minimal invasive laproscopic technique, so hope to get back with light training in 6 to 8 weeks.

Looked like a great day for racing!  I had a nice view out my window of the Miss. river and thought of everyone at 7:30 when the first wave headed out.
